Sac measuring a week small and told to expect the worst

Can someone help me work this out?

LMP was 20th April (cycle 30-34)

DTD 27th April & 3rd may (all my other children have been conceived on the earlier date a few days after af ends. However I suspect that the 3rd was right in this case.

Bfp 17th may

Thus makes me around 6+5 today.

2 days ago I had a brownish mucus when I wiped. It was about 4 wipes worth and has not happened since.

Mentioned to mw that I have had quite a lot of pain like trapped nerve so was referred to epu.

Tuesday hcg levels 21000

Today scan showed sac and small heartbeat but baby too small to see. Dates given were 5+5

Doctor said that it is possible that this is beginning of the end as my bfp was 3 weeks ago meaning it would have come up 5dpo

I have to go back in 2 weeks but wondered if anyone had any experience

I had an early scan too and it measured a week younger than I thought. That was a month ago and all going strong. My cycle is long and irregular, a bit like yours so I'm presuming I can't really go by my LMP as it puts me a week ahead of where the baby is. If they saw a heartbeat that's great.

i couldnt work it out either with mine. they seemed to put me back by another week after i had accounted for a 35 day cycle. this was at about 6 weeks and put me back to 5. i have decided not to worry about it and am now 16 weeks. baby is growing to the dates they have given so i am just going with it.
i also had some days brown spotting between 6 and 7 weeks.

Thank you. That makes me feel so much better. I know what will be will be but would like to think there is still hope.

Mine was dated as 6+5 when I should have been 7+5 by lmp, I had ovulated a couple of days late though, scan at 12wk put me back 3 days rather then the 7. Also ds1 put me back 1wk too at early scan, 12wk put me back to a week ahead again, I think early scans are abit hit n miss as its so small so even a mm out can change the date quite alot. Your hcg level looks to be pretty promising xx
