Feeling sick and exhausted after light exercise: blood sugar issues?

Hi all, I'm nearly 33 weeks with dc2 and trying to remain as gently active as possible. However, I'm finding that even doing things like a gentle 3m walk or an aquanatal class is leaving me feeling unwell - not during the exercise itself, but usually that night I will wake feeling poorly and really thirsty and the next day I'm lucky if I can keep my breakfast down and feel nauseas and out of sorts all day. Eating and drinking before/during/after the exercise seems to make no difference.

I'm wondering if this is a normal 3rd tri thing or if there's something not quite right (blood sugars?). I didn't ever feel like this with dc1 but I had sore pgp/spd so wasn't really getting any exercise in the thurs tri.

Anyone got any thoughts? I'm wondering if I should get checked out?

May be low Iron levels.. then also you feel exhausted.. and third trimester is the time when most pg women's Iron goes low.. it will be normal if you take iron supplements.. So tell your midwife and get your blood tested.. and if she recommends iron; take them.. Hope it helps.. Smile

Thanks Saku, my iron was tested a couple of weeks ago and was 11.something (which I think is fine?) and I'm taking a pg multivitamin including iron. I will get tested again in case it's that, but I'm not sure it is.

I had low blood pressure with DD2 which made me feel as you describe. Get it check? Otherwise "normal" exhaustion will do that, My MW advice at the time was to do gentle exercises, if it makes you feel better continue, if you feel worse after it just stop.

Thanks all. Bumping for the evening people. Another thoughts? I'm also being tested for cholestasis. Don't know if that could be relevant?

Lma, the difficulty is the exercise makes me feel fab while I'm doing it and right after but it's the next night and day there seems to be an effect.

May be it is completely unrelated then? Something you eat, not enough drink?
