Probably this has been asked numerous times but...

I am 14w2d according to my scan, but according to my LMP I would be 4-7 days less than that. It's my second pregnancy. I'm sure I just felt my baby fluttering. How early did you feel it?

With DC 1 it was 19 weeks, but with the next two it was around 14 weeks so I think you can safely say your baby has just said his/her first 'hello'!

mumoftwoboysS · 31/05/2013 13:16

Around 15 weeks with my first, 13 with my 2nd. I SWEAR I felt the tiniest flutter the other day (I'm only 11 weeks now) I think you become more in tune in subsequent pregnancies and know what the sensations feel like. It's the best feeling in the world isn't it? Smile

MisselthwaiteManor · 31/05/2013 13:22

About 16 weeks, this is my first. I didn't feel fluttering though, it was tiny little kicks from the start so I may have not noticed earlier fluttering.

Gonnabmummy · 31/05/2013 13:33

21 weeks but it's my first preg and the early stages were the really busy Xmas new year period at work (waitress at ridiculously busy hotel) so was going crazy doing 50 hours then I was either being sick or sleeping never felt a flutter was just lying in bed and two definite kicks I was shocked. Never stopped since then :)

FoofFighter · 31/05/2013 13:33

Dc3 around 10 weeks, little popping frog sensation when i was all scrunched up

lilstar · 31/05/2013 13:36

mumoftwoboysS , it goes without saying it is an amazing happening but I am still getting round to the fact that I am actually expecting so it's kind of a daunting idea at the same time for me!

Thanks for the replies everyone!

I got little flutters at about 15 weeks (this is my first pregnancy) but honestly got very little again for a long time and only getting strong kicks as I am coming to 26 weeks. Baby very active in scans though.

BabyStone · 31/05/2013 14:05

I thought a felt a flutter at about 16/17 weeks then nothing until more obvious movements at 20weeks. Baby was normally asleep during scans and I had an anterior placenta

StarlightMcKenzie · 31/05/2013 14:08

No. 1 14 weeks, no,2 16 weeks and no 3 just before 12 weeks.

Lydia161290 · 31/05/2013 14:31

Felt some popping movement at around 16 weeks, but didn't start to feel baby properly till after 20 weeks.

Vocalista86 · 31/05/2013 14:48

First baby - yesterday at 13+5, light flutterings. :)

clare8allthepies · 31/05/2013 15:50

Hmm, seems to get earlier with each pregnancy, with DD nothing until about 22 weeks, have a retroverted uterus so don't know if that's why, hopefully will be sooner this time (14+2 now) Smile

2Labradors · 31/05/2013 20:27

I'm pregnant with my 3rd and thought I started feeling little flutterings at 11 weeks+. Am now 14 weeks and its unmistakable and lovely. Had a cup of normal (not de-caff) tea today and baby was wriggling afterwards.

Ilovestackingcups · 31/05/2013 21:20

DC1 18 weeks. Anterior placenta, not particularly active baby.
DC2 14 weeks. Posterior placenta, VERY active baby. Had very bad early 2nd trimester MS, on the first day in a week I managed to eat a meal, got some hefty kicks in thanks!

Gingerbreadpixie · 31/05/2013 22:42

About 16 weeks. This is my first. Started as fluttering and "popping" sensations. Posterior placenta

JennaRainbow · 31/05/2013 22:57

I know this might sound silly but can someone describe what the fluttering and popping feels like? I'm 16 weeks and there's so much going on in there it's hard to know what's what!

lilstar · 31/05/2013 23:05

It's kind of hard to describe other than it feels like a wee butterfly flapping and tapping against you briefly....and obviously it has to be in the right area. Apart from that I would liken it to the feeling you get if you have ever had one of your muscles twitching? Almost like a soft beat...on the inside.

Thanks lilstar, I'll look our for butterflies now! I've felt something like 3 bubbles popping quickly, could that be it? I think I just need to be patient but it's so hard as all you want to do is feel it!

islingtongirl · 01/06/2013 09:27

I'm only on dc1 but it was about 19-20 when first got movement I was sure was baby. A few weeks before then I suspected I felt baby, a few little 'pops' and squirming feelings. I have a (high) anterior placenta though which may have meant I felt things a little later, plus had no idea what to look out for! Am 28 weeks now and can definitely feel her! It will come I promise!

Lynd2104 · 01/06/2013 09:30

Im a first time mum and i sware i felt my LO fluttering around 12-13weeks, although nobody believes me :P

Sleepthief · 01/06/2013 09:36

17 weeks with DS1 (was on a plane and kept feeling him doing flips, like when you are on a roller coaster), 9 weeks with DS2 (he was and continues to be incredibly active and strong, walked at 9 months etc) and 14/15 weeks with DS3, who was and still is only little Smile

duchesse · 01/06/2013 09:43

13 weeks with DS, about 17 weeks with DD1, 10 weeks Shock with DD2, about 14 weeks with DD3.

I think foetuses vary a lot in amount of movement, size and positioning even that early, so it's natural there should be a wide range of times for feeling first movement.

lilstar · 01/06/2013 10:40

JennaRainbow I've never described it as bubblues popping but I have seen alot of people describing it like that. I guess just like pain, everyone feels sensations in their body differently but when you do feel it you just realise and know! I felt the baby move yesterday but haven't felt it again since but I just know that is what I felt.

Lynd2104 I believe you! lol. If you search this subject online, there are alot of discussions where people claim to feel it even earlier than that too.

BTW you can pretty much go by the scan date rather than LMP now, it's very accurate.

Lynd I too believe you, so annoying when people(especially when it's other women!!) say you imagined it or it was a fart Hmm it's my 4th pregnancy I think I know what I felt!

MrsHY1 · 01/06/2013 16:55

This is all fascinating! I'm only 13+3 so wasn't expecting to feel anything for a while. I do know I have a retroverted uterus but I've no idea where my placenta is. At what point do you find out? Or should I have found out at my 12 wk scan? x
