hi,

I will be travelling to Australia when I will be 27weeks pregnant and returning when I am 30 weeks. My usual travel insurance company will not insure me. can anybody recommend a company that they use when travelling whilst pregnant?

thank you.

I was insured by nationwide as I bank with them. however I was only 20 weeks when I travelled with them - not sure if there was a cutoff.

I use Direct Line - think they are pretty good at pg insurance. Enjoy - sounds like a great trip!

I use insure and go. They cover pregnancy (with some time limits) as std as it is 'not an illness'

I know you'll only be at 30 weeks but i wanted to add this to the thread cos when i was lookig for cover at 33 weeks i really struggled. This lot cover until 36 weeks if you have a fitness to fly letter. They saved my holiday Smile

Just checked my insure and go policy and the effective cut off is 32 weeks as they don't cover premature birth from that point on. Everything else is just based on cover for major complications of pregnancy, which seems fair enough as you wouldn't seek medical attention abroad unless something drastic was happening.

I used virgin money travel insurance when I went to France. In their small print it said they do not consider pregnancy an 'illness' so pregnancy related claims will be covered, but always read the small print Wink
