Scared - being indusced at 37+3 due to low fluid levels

Hoping someone has experienced something similar and can answer some questions. I am being induced next week at 37+3 on DC2 due to low fluid levels and concern that placenta is not working properly. I will get a sweep friday and will then get pessaries sunday night or if favourable will go straight to having waters broken monday morning. I was induced on DD1 at 39 weeks due to same issue but this seems so much earlier.
Some questions that may be unanswerable except by psychics are:
what is likelihood of being favourable at 37 weeks as its DC2?
Might sweep trigger something to happen over weekend if I am favourable?
Will pessaries work faster this time - had to get two lots last time?
Will labour be faster as babs is measuring small at 5 and half lbs compared to DD who was 7lbs 2ozs?
Sorry for the rambling questions,just found out this afternoon and still shell shocked, would love a glass of something to calm down but will have to make it orange juice instead.

Can't really help on most of it as DD1 eventually born by csection but she was 37 weeks, very small but healthy as anything. In case you were worried about that. I was induced for low fluid. The pessaries didn't work for me but it was my first. Good luck. Hope all goes well.

I was induced last week at 34 weeks due to having lost my waters 2 weeks ago. The 2 pessaries got me to 2 cm dialated so I'm sure it can be done at 37 weeks. . Incidently I was shaking with terror by the time I got to the labour ward, so I think that is normal! The midwives coped and got me through it and listened to what I was scared of and managed it. My daughter was delivered at 38+1 but by c-section because she was breech for the same reason. She was absolutely fine! Estimated weight of 5lbs, fluid below the 3rd centile and the placenta heavily matured. She turned out to be 6lbs 111oz and perfectly healthy. Sorry can't help with your induction questions but wanted to wish you luck!

Hi, i was induced at 37+5 with ds and it was fine. I had 2 pessaries and then my waters broke on their own. This was about 8pm and he was born just after 3am so not too bad at all. I did have the drip and an epidural as they told me i would be in labour much longer than i was! He was fine too. Good luck!

Friend was in the same situation with dc2. They tried to induce her around 38 weeks with sweeps, pessarys and breaking her waters over the period of a week. She didn't stay in hospital was sent home after trying. None of which worked. She was favourable. She was told on the friday that come monday she'd be going into hospital for a drip etc as the baby needed to come out. She went into labour that sunday night and had a very healthy happy baby coming in at 6lbs.

Her labour very natural was 4hrs from start to finish! Her first dc was induced at 40+10.

I am 37+4 with baby number 5. I had a scan on Saturday which showed amniotic fluid below 5th centile, renal pelvic dilation and high umbilical artery PI. I wasn't given any explanation at all, just told not to worry! They didn't mention induction.

I will be seeing consultant tomorrow morning. My last baby weighed 11lbs at birth. This one is estimated to weigh 6lbs.

I have made the mistake of googling, and I'm now really worried about induction because of cord compression. I want to ask for an elective section, but my last 4 labours have all been completely normal and natural and this is all just so scary!

Thanks again everyone, your positive experiences are helpful. Happy, I too was told not to worry but to keep a close eye on movement. I think the early induction is due to my history as I have just one take home baby from six pregnancies so I think they are extra cautious. I too googled and saw the cord compression issue but midwife yesterday said its no greater a risk than labour with normal fluid levels. Best of luck with tomorrow.

I am assuming that its full induction with pessaries, monitoring and more than likely epidural so need to get my head around that.

This happened to me too and was induced at 36+6. My consultant did not use peassaries due to cord compression risk as he wanted to be able to stop labour immediately if nescessary. I would check with your consultant as I was lucky and had the head of fetal medicine oversee my induction and you can't get higher up than that! In the end the induction worked and I had a emcs. Happy healthy baby though which is what matters. Good luck.

I was due to be induced at 37+3 due to my fluid being 'off the bottom of the chart' (consultant's words) and having lakes on my placenta.

As it happens, I went into labour naturally at 37+0 and turned up for my pre-induction check in labour.

My 2nd DD was born at the same number of weeks, but that time I had the normal amount of water.

All I really noticed was that the baby's movements were very clear and quite painful, and that when my waters finally went, there wasn't that much of them. There was some mention of having to keep an eye on the baby's kidneys if the fluid level was low, but all was well.
