eek- excessive weight gain and i am not exaggerating!

I am 17 weeks today and have put on a stone. Granted i was 7 stone 10 to start with and i put on just under 3 stone with ds, but this stone seems outrageous at this stage. I am eating well but not indulgently, this is not normal is it? I dread to think what i'll be at 32 weeks. Eek again.

oops that doesn't make much sense - I mean I can't drink (much) and am not doing exercise as Im out of the habit! Trying to type when talking to 3yo is impossible...

madgirl - when I saw you I didn't think you looked overweight at all. Seriously I wouldn't worry about it. I've put on 2 stones now and coming up to 30 weeks. I must admit I eat anything I fancy - esp anything that is high in fat and sugar I reckon if I can't indulge myself during pregnancy then when can I indulge. Plus I look it as compensation for not being allowed to drink, and my waist has gone anyway

oh god your making me worry now. I started off at 9 stone 2lbs and by 13 weeks went up to 9 stone 10. But now I seem to have lost the weight. Im back to 9 stone 7lbs and 24 weeks preg. Maybe I havent put on enought weight. Ive got a definete bump and look pregnant.

thanks metrobaby for that! have to say tho' i look a lot bigger than when we saw each other. magnum- yes dh has lost that weight purely by giving up the booze.
thanks again everyone, i have eased up considerably, and i think you're right elliott the guidelines are v unhelpful. i saw my m/wife on monday (ist time at 17.3 wks) and she just laughed and said they didn't really bother checking weight anymore unless it really looked as if there was a problem at either end of the scale.
