DH soldering hobby - ok for me to be around?

Bit of a strange question! I'm 24 weeks pg. DH has taken up a new hobby (electronics) and soldering is part of that. The solder he has is lead free but he switched his soldering iron on this evening and within minutes our living room stank to high heaven of burning metal! I got out for some fresh air and he opened all windows. If he works in a well ventilated room (that I'm not in!) is this safe? Or should I not be around this? There's surprisingly not an NHS page for this sort of guidance!

The solder is lead free. I have no idea what flux is! I'll have to pass the info onto him. Thanks
