I got my BFP at the start of November and haven't touched a drop since then. Gave up smoking and copious amounts of energy drinks then as well and have honestly not missed them.

However with the weather as it is today my Facebook has exploded with photos of beer gardens and I'm a teeny bit jealous. I just wanted to share that.

sulky face Confused

I craved cider when I was pg with ds2. I gave in, bought some (we were on holiday in scrumpy Somerset at the time) I had one mouthful and nearly puked everywhere. The fantasy was FAR nicer than the reality!

Sainsburys do a really good low alcohol (0.3%!) cider, it's great for summer cider cravings!!

Chubfuddler · 20/04/2013 18:20

Have a half. Honestly you can drink alcohol occasionally when you are pregnant. It is fine.

OrangeLily · 20/04/2013 18:22

Would some low/no alcohol do? Iv had a 0.5% from Tesco that was lovely before!

RememberingMyPFEs · 20/04/2013 18:23

I'm about the same stage in PG as you and days like today are tough... But a little alcohol occasionally is ok. 1-2 units 1-2 times a week is fine. ESP at this stage in PG.
That said, Koppaberg do an alcohol free pear cider (stocked in our Tescos) which is LUSH!

DaveMccave · 20/04/2013 18:27

I'm like that when its hot. I find the alcohol free cans of fizzy apple from Ikea do the trick.

Littlemissexpecting · 20/04/2013 18:35

I was in Sainsburys and bought both the alcohol free pear cider mentioned (they also do a mixed fruit one but Sainsburys didn't have it) and their own brand low alcohol English cider (less than 1%).
Must have been catching I was also craving it today Smile

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 20/04/2013 18:42

I read in the Times this week that scientists have decided that a couple of units of alcohol a week is OK when you are pregnant. Have some cider and enjoy it.

calypso2008 · 20/04/2013 18:46

Have a pint of cider! It will do you and baby no harm - once a week is fine! Smile

Weightlessbaby · 20/04/2013 18:52

Have a pint, it'll be fine. I drank throughout my pregnancy (not heavily, just a few drinks a week- although near the end when I was fed up and enormous I did have 2 pints in the pub with IL's!) DD has suffered no harm because of it.

Heavywheezing · 20/04/2013 18:56

Funny enough , I needed cider when I was pregnant.
I was pregnant in the summer and a had a small glass maybe twice. Enjoy.

lucybrad · 20/04/2013 19:35

I had half a bottle of magners last night - 1.2 units. Saving the rest for tonight! Won't drink for rest of week though.

SeriousStuff · 20/04/2013 20:38

I think Koppaberg do a good 0% cider

rrreow · 20/04/2013 20:38

Have a half! Or some apple cordial with sparkling water if you really don't want to have alcohol.

Kelly1814 · 20/04/2013 21:10

Oh, have one! I had a glass of wine last night, sipped it slowly and it was delicious.

Repeatedlydoingthetwist · 20/04/2013 21:41

Thanks all, I've had a couple of cans of alcohol free Kopperberg (mixed fruit) and it's hit the spot! Highly recommended! x

I think this is the article - but i haven't registered so cant see all of it. www.thetimes.co.uk/tto/health/news/article3741195.ece

God it is so flipping confusing with conflicting advice all the time!! And I have made it to 25 weeks in now, with my alcohol free beer, so will just make it through the rest as the no alcohol advice is stuck in my head now.

Hope you enjoyed your cider Grin

Repeatedlydoingthetwist · 21/04/2013 08:38

Flapjacks I'm with you, the advice is very confusing so I'm going to play it safe! To be honest the alcohol free Kopperberg tastes pretty much the same as the normal one and I don't have the hangover that DP is suffering with right now so win-win! x
