When did you start to look pregnant??

Hello girls!!

Just wondering when everyone started to get a proper bump? I'm 16 weeks pregnant with #3 and although my tummy has got bigger I still don't have an obvious bump and just look fat! My tummy was flabby anyway after having two kids already, I'm a size 14 so not like I'm obese and only now I can't do up the button on my jeans. I can't remember when I got a bump with my other 2, reckon it was about 4 months and I just assumed with this being my 3rd I would show quicker. I'm starting to think theres something wrong as I just don't look pregnant!! xx

I'm 20 weeks with my first. Was also a size 14 pre pregnancy but with a fairly flat tum. I think that I just look like I've gone up a dress size at the moment, hopefully will become more bump like in the next few weeks!

Pregnant with DC2 and only really starting to look pregnant at 30 weeks, just looked fat before then, but i did start out a size 16/18 so it's had more natural camouflage than most

19 weeks here with DC no.2, I'm a size 8 and tum has gone a bit flabby rather than a proper bump! I'm feeling impatient now!

I am 20 weeks and was a size 16 pre pg so like choccy have natural camouflage. My dp and friends who haven't seen me for a while comment on the fact i have a bump but i have only noticed in the last week. Matey cos where i had lost flat pre pg i now have a rounder shape iyswim

Glad I'm not alone then with the none existent bump!! Hubby says it'll appear all of a sudden and says that I was the same with the last two (I don't remember though) and that I'm just being silly as my tummy does look bigger!!xx

I'm 24 weeks with dc3, I had a bump but after saying to the midwife I didn't feel like I was getting bigger the other week all of a sudden my tummys gone hard and is suddenly massive, she said around 24 weeks is when baby starts to pile on the weight fast so put it down to that.

I've looked back at my photo diary! Around week 16 I'm very rounded, by week 20 it was undeniable. I'm a 14 too. I couldn't do my jeans up from about 11 weeks (well the tight fitting ones) but didn't show to the world for a while after that! I still have a neat bump at 36+5!

About 20 weeks with dc1 (dd) and 26 weeks with dc2 (DS).

I was about 25 weeks before I started looking pregnant and not just fat. I think it was about the time my bump got further out than my boobs!

I am 20 weeks with DC1. I had just a widening of the waist until about a week and a half ago, but now I seem to be expanding by the day. Terrified to be honest! Literally over the course of a week NONE of my going out clothes fit any more.

I'm nearly 28 weeks with #1 and started out a size 10/12. I have only had an obvious bump for the last few weeks. From about 18 weeks onwards I just looked fat

I'm having the opposite experience to all you ladies. I'm 13 weeks and while the rest of me looks the same (apart from larger boobs!!) my tummy is sticking so far out. I don't know whether its just bloated or baby. it doesn't feel uncomfortable but can't believe its all baby this early on!! I'm a size 10 and have always had a very flat tummy so maybe?! this is no 1 for me and I thought u usually show quite late with your first?

It took me until about week 22, and even then it only showed in tight maternity styles - I was so proud of finally being pregnant and got so tired of everyone saying my bump was small/ barely showing! Usually I'm a size 8-10, so had expected to show a lot sooner.

Apparently a lot comes down to body shape and also stomach muscle strength - which is why second babies usually show soon, while my Pilates instructor didn't show until nearly 30 weeks!

Roofio you are not the only one! I am 12 weeks (no 1) and usually a size 10. Although I don't feel I have a "bump", I do think the shape of my tummy has changed. Almost a little bit pointy! If you knew me well you might spot it. Thankfully having some boobs for the first time helps to disguise it a little

So happy to read your posts Roofio and Knitella, I thought there was smth wrong with me! Only 11+4 and I've got a very obvious pointy bump, it's getting difficult to hide it I'm quite petit though (size 6-8).

I'm only 16 weeks with my second, and it's very bizarre, but my tummy at the bottom of my ribs is poking out and quite firm (about 6 inches above where the baby actually is - barely poking out of my pelvis yet).

Luckily I'm already rather portly, so I just look fat, and because it's high up that's poking out I can do up my jeans. I've already had a scan and everything's normal baby-wise so goodness knows what's going on with my stomach!

Placenta position can also affect bump size and shape - I've got a low and anterior placenta (found out at 20 weeks) and to 16 weeks I looked normal. Between 16 and 20 weeks I started looking fat, then suddenly, literally one afternoon at 21+4, it just sort of 'popped' into a bump shape.

At 22-23 weeks I had to get mat work trousers as mine no longer fit.

Now at 24 weeks it's no longer possible to hide it, even under loose clothes. Has been that way for just over a week. I started out as an 8-10 and this is my first.
