Ache deep in right bum cheek..

Hey guys,
Just wondering if any one else has felt anything like this or knows what it might be.. I'm over 40 weeks pregnant and this morning developed a deep achey pain in my right bum cheek it's really painful and is making my leg ache too..
Any insite to what it could be or if anyone else has the same thing would be good to know x

It's sciatica. Refered nerve pain from your back. Bloody painful. Parcetamol is all you can do but try a heat pack on your lower back.
The only relief I used to get was trying to sit on my fist with my knuckle poking right in my butt cheek.

34 weeks and get this in my left bum cheek sometimes, is that what it is?

Sciatica - go see a chiropractor who does pregnancy stuff, they'll sort you in no time. I've suffered on and off for years and the chiropractor definitely fixes it.

If it goes all the way down your leg it's probably sciatica. If it just goes to the top of your leg it may well be referred pelvic pain from your sacroiliac joint. Either way best to avoid sitting in one position for long, try a warm bath and physio/chiropractor might help if doesnt settle on its own

Sciatica is the symptom but its probably si joint pain common in pregnancy I got it after giving birth. Spent a lot of money of physio and acupuncture it does ease up after a while apparently I was told that mine was so bad because I gave birth lying down with my legs in stirrups if you can move around in birth it's much better for your back :)

Yes as choccy days warm baths are really good for it

I got this a few weeks ago and saw a physio. There are several stretches you can do to relieve the pain.

The one I find easiest is sit on the edge of a firm chair with your legs about hip width apart. Put your right ankle over your left knee and then gentle push down on your right knee until you feel the stretch in your right bum cheek.

If your are very flexible, you can feel the stretch more if you lean forward slightly.

You should feel the stretch but it should not hurt at all.

I've been seeing a physio for this too. The best thing she recommended was sitting on a tennis ball and rolling it around until you hit a really sore spot. Leave it for a little bit until the pain eases then roll again
