I'm 15 weeks pregnant and the itching is driving me nuts. Particularly around my ever increasing, deepening cleavage which also is becoming delightfully spotty. Anyone got any miracle cures for the itching? Calomine lotion not working. Please help!!

Never found a cure for it myself! Did used to drive me mad.

You have mentioned it to your MW I hope? In my case it was luckily just hormones and nothing serious.

Seeing them again next week so will mention. Good plan thanks.

I had it really bad it's horrible. I didn't find a cure - apart from giving birth lol but the closest I got to slight relief was a cream call baby bump from wilkinson - it was an own brand cheapy - think it was cocca butter Shea and almond mix, didn't sort it totally but was the best thing I tried.
I was told it's common when you have a boy as your body is reacting to boy hormones - don't no how true it is but I had a son Smile

I had itchy shins early on with DD and someone on here advised Aveeno cream. It has colloidal oatmeal or something in it and it's great! I tried the E45 Itch Relief cream and it made it worse but the Aveeno stuff rocks! :)

Though itching in pregnancy's really common with all that skin stretching, you could talk to your midwife about obstetric cholestasis or ICP. You may know about it already, but I didn't when I got it. It's a liver condition that can come on in pregnancy though it's more usual in the third trimester. There's a helpful website: www.icpsupport.org/index.html. It's quite unlikely as you're earlier on in pregnancy, but maybe worth thinking about if the itching continues.

I saw my GP because of intense itching (not feet or hands which can be an indicator of OC). He prescribed a cream which helped a lot. I also found I was worse at night so I turned the heating right down in the bedroom, wear thinner layers in bed and he said to avoid baths right before bed to keep the skin cool. It did ease off in time (although bump still gets itchy now!).

I saw my GP too and he gave a steroid cream, which helped.

Keep the area moisturised, wear breast pads if you think that'll help and moisturise everyday. Also do you have a comfy bra? And oh yes, wash clothes and bedding with the baby friendly detergent (forgotten what it's called now).
