Hi all,

I'm 11+ weeks and have come down with a really sore throat today - usually a precursor to a cold. i'm really hoping its not but have taken 1 paracetamol and been drinking warm water with fresh lime (couldnt get a single lemon) and grapes all day.

Is there anything else anyone can recommend that might help?

thanks

Gargle with salt and warm water

Honey & Lemon linctus, very cheap & coats the throat.

Have a drink of water before if your dry, not after - else you rinse it all off!

Tyrozets lozenges are terrific for sore throats, and are fine to take while pregnant

They've got a local anesthetic and an anti bacterial agent, and work wonders!

Manuka honey & lemon juice, it has been my godsend whilst PG, the honey is expensive but you can find it relatively cheaply in Aldi.
1 tablespoon of Manuka honey, 3 teaspoons of lemon juice & hot water, I add 2 teaspoons of sugar to taste.

Tyrozets for me too, I had an awful cold when I was about 12 weeks and used them.
