Got a BFP this morning (yay). What do I do now?
Is there anyone else due early Dec 2013?

It'll depend on your area...I'd contact your GP practice and ask. Some insist you see a GP first, some will just get you booked in for a booking in appointment with the midwife.

I've had a look on the ante-natal clubs and there's no December thread yet but why not start one? You'll not be alone for long!

Congratulations :) Thanks

TakingTheStairs · 25/03/2013 09:24

thanks having I can't quite believe it yet... but I've started a Dec thread just the same Grin.
I've give my doc a call and see what they say.

I remember that feeling! :)

TakingTheStairs · 25/03/2013 09:35

When are you due? I felt very calm when the result came up on the test and thought I was fine, but as soon as I told my DH I started to cry (happy tears) and now I feel fine again (apart from the constant dizziness!)

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 25/03/2013 09:38

I'm due in about 4 weeks now! Shock I distinctly recall looking at the first BFP and thinking Oh that can't be right! (couldn't believe it after 2 1/2 years TTC!).

Re the dizziness, you need to drink, drink, drink! At this point. My MW said you need double what you'd usually have.

GoSuckEggs · 25/03/2013 09:38

I shall be POAS later ( i work shifts) Fingers crossed i can join your Dec Thread.

TakingTheStairs · 25/03/2013 09:45

4 weeks! Wow, that is close! Good to know about the drinking, thank you. I'll make a concious effort to increase my water intake. If that's the only bad side effect/symptom I'll be happy with that!

Fingers crossed for you GoSuckEggs

Huge congratulations! Getting that BFP is the best! And enjoy the lack of symptoms at the moment...I thought I was invincible until nausea struck at 6 weeks!

I had to test 4 times to be sure. First day, you couldn't see a line but both my DH and I knew there was something there, if you just held it in the shade you could see the faintest outline of something! Second day, still invisible but more visible if you know what I mean!

Third day, I was at my business partners' doing our accounts (!) and I asked if she minded if I tested as I wanted her opinion. Well, the line was there, no doubt about it. Suffice to say, our meeting came to an abrupt end. I texted DH who was in work, then went to the supermarket in an absolute daze - just walked around the aisles for ages!

That night, did another test, the Clearblue that says if you're 'pregnant' or not and it was pretty sure about it.

I just couldn't stop smiling - hysteria more than anything I think!

GoSuck let us know how you get on!

chookford · 25/03/2013 10:11

Taking I am fine thank you lovely! I am so pleased for you... I have a big grin on my face now!! How many weeks are you?!

Still no definate decision on when we will be trying again but hopefully it will be soon... my dd is starting school in Sept so I have to get over that hurdle first! she is growing up!!! x

TakingTheStairs · 25/03/2013 10:14

Thanks SeriousStuff That must have been so exciting!! I'm sitting in work and any time anyone asks me how I am I start grinning like a maniac. I must look deranged!

Chookford, she's starting school already! wow!
I got 1-2 weeks on the CB digital this morning, do I count that as 4 weeks? It's been 4 weeks since last AF or do I say 2 weeks?

OP posts:
TakingTheStairs · 25/03/2013 10:15

Oh and SeriousStuff I have no doubt that if there are bad symptoms to be had, I will be the one suffering. I'm enjoying it while I can!

OP posts:
chookford · 25/03/2013 10:17

You would class it as 4 weeks my love, whatever the CB says basically the docs will add 2 weeks on to it so 2-3 weeks will be 4-5 and 3+ will be 5+ etc!!! ooohhh so exciting!!!! its about time you have some good news!!! yay!!

Yeah she is 4 in June and big school in Sept!! Sob.......!!

TakingTheStairs · 25/03/2013 10:40

woo hoo! 4 weeks! The next 8 will hopefully fly in and then I can tell people in RL Grin

Big school, bless her little heart. That must be odd for you though. xx

chookford · 25/03/2013 11:14

Nice Decemeber baby.... Christmas will certainly be busy for you this year!!!!

Yeah it is, cant believe she is 4 already!! Time really does fly! x

MildredH · 25/03/2013 11:24

Taking- congrats- I'm with you.. BF(faint)P yesterday, followed by BF(slightly darker)P this morning.

Due 4th Dec going by last AF.

I'm so glad not to be in work. Luckily I'm on nights this week so will hardly see anyone else as I don't think I could not share my news! Grin

TakingTheStairs · 25/03/2013 11:30

I reckon Christmas will be a bit of a blur chookford Grin

Hi MildredH Congratulations!

Congratulations taking!!! Xxx

GoSuckEggs · 25/03/2013 11:34

congratulation guys!

Its strange, I am genuinely pleased for you lot, but my Dsis told me she was pregnant and I could have quite happily strangled her. It took me a good few 7 months to be able to talk to about it the baby . but even now i dont feel any connection to it, or excited or anything. Sad i wish i could.

TakingTheStairs · 25/03/2013 11:39

Hi tinky thank you!!

GoSuck I know how you feel. My SIL told us she was 6 wks the day after we had got a bfn that we thought would be a bfp. Very hard not to be resentful.

OP posts:
MildredH · 25/03/2013 11:41

Go Suck- this is entirely normal I think. I've been avoiding all pregnant friends/ family for the last few months just entirely incapable of saying anything nice to them! Blush

Taking- I'm coming!

GoSuckEggs · 25/03/2013 11:44

hopefully i will get the BFBFP (biggest fattest BFP) today then i can stop being such a cow! Grin

MildredH · 25/03/2013 11:48

Everything crossed for you Gosuck. No idea what your back story is so apologies if I'm off the mark but after 15 months no joy we got a BFP month 1 with a clear blue fertility monitor.. Our timing had been way off.. Good luck

GoSuckEggs · 25/03/2013 12:20

its been 12 months for us, but i have come off the injection. I have just started to have 'proper' periods these past few months. Have had a rubbish ad stressful time with job etc, but that is now sorted told them to shove the job where the sun dont shine and hopefully no stress will help. I was looking at those, so may invest if no luck from new stress free shagging!
