Hi all

Anyone got knowledge to reassure me.....

In the last 3 weeks I've had to fire someone at work, manage someone out of a job and just told a temp that they were not selected for a post despite working with us for a long time and well liked.

There's a real atmosphere and no one is speaking to me. All decisions have been fair and right but I feel terrible. Have started to get pains in my abdomen but think it may just be me being paranoid.

Could this pressure cause any problems at this late stage of pregnancy????

Hi tweet how many weeks are you?

gloti · 22/03/2013 19:25

tweet I'm interested to see what people say on this, I also work in HR and work has been soo difficult lately with a huge reorg (meaning redundancies) a serious grievance and an internal investigation with police involved!
I am 21 weeks and also wondering of this is affecting my baby as it is too early to go on mat leave but I can't see the workload getting better
All the best I hope you are able to switch off a little bit xxx

I think Its just important to try to take time for yourself, If you can?

My partner left me 7 weeks ago for another woman, I fractured my spine last year & Im moving house on my own (trying to pack is a nightmare, with back pain)

Im 35 weeks, with family 300 miles away Sad

But today Ive pampered myself, bath, manicure ect & feel relaxed now.

Can you do less at home so you can rest?

Oh dear sunshine, sounds like you've been having such a tough time. I hope you're okay? Sending you hugs.

I am 36 wks at mo. it's been a tough old day. Was a joint leaving do tonight and some of them were trying to get the others to change venue without telling me so that I'd turn up and no one would be there. They all also left me to walk in snow and gave each other lifts. I just tried to stay strong.

They sound like horrid children!! Let it wash over you, you are doing your job. At least you don't have long to go. I have been thinking of this issue too, I may be moving house at approx 36 weeks and am concerned about the stress involved. I suppose its the ultimate oppertunity to detach and stay calm for your own sake and that of the baby. I am sure your baby will be just fine, treat yourself to something that makes you feel good!

Im in bed already!

Do you think It could be Braxton Hicks?
I get sharp pains every week or so, only last a few seconds for about 20 mins, if that makes sense x

babyradio · 22/03/2013 22:11

People can be so unkind, it really makes me wonder.

Rise above it but if you're worried about the pains there's no harm in calling your midwife :)

Thank you. So glad that you are out there and taken time to respond. Really made me feel a lot better.

I think that you are right, could be braxton or even maybe a bit of stomach acid. Doesn't seem as bad now am away from the office.

Think will just try and switch off.

Hope that the move goes okay melli. My sister in law moved around same stage and she just took a step back and let dh take the lead. That worked okay.

I'm off to bed too sunshine, weekend tomorrow- yay!Grin
