Hello there,
I think I'm just stupid sometimes. Really try to be careful and then something stupid happens like just now I was sellotaping a box up and my hand slipped and bumped my little bump, also had this when trying to pull up my tights and hand slips because they're not long enough or difficult to get up. Really hope this doesn't effect little one, really try to be careful and then things like this happen and I think how stupid I can be.
If anyone has done similar silly things and it's been okay please let me know.
Scan next week so fingers crossed it's all okay.

Baby is very well protected in it's wee bubble and at 11 weeks still probably behind your pubic bone anyhow :)

None of those things are stupid-we all do them. Right now your wee one is so protected by fluid they won't feel a thing when you do stuff like that. Please try not to worry Smile

Really wouldn't worry. Baby is pretty safe from direct bumps even at term. Heavy falls are more worrying in case they affect the placenta still was fine after fall from cantering horse at 14 weeks

givemeaclue · 21/03/2013 17:12

Also its quite unusual to have a bump at 11Weeks! I do know people who have had bad falls and been fine so your hand slipping isn't anything to worry about,

RightUpMyRue · 21/03/2013 17:16

At 11 weeks your baby is so well padded and protected that the bumps you are describing will, categorically, have no effect on it at all.

If you're feeling very anxious about your PG it would be a good idea to speak to your midwife about it, she's there to listen and help.

You really need to calm down.

Either my phone is playing up and deleting the words listeria, salt-water ceocodiles and rugby or You are going around thinking tights and Sellotape cause miscarriage? Good lord!

noblegiraffe · 22/03/2013 05:55

A bus ran into the back of my car just before my 12 week scan. I was ok but went to doc worried about bump. He didn't look in the slightest bit concerned and said baby was in a cushion of amniotic fluid and would have been well protected. Everything was fine at the scan, baby now 3.5 years old.

So if I can be hit by a bus, I'm fairly sure that knocking your bump with your hand is fine Wink

My friend found out she was 12 weeks pregnant after falling off her horse, breaking 4 ribs and having a pretty serious head injury. Her daughter is now 18 and a mother herself.

I'm more concerned with your anxiety tbh. Have you spoken to your midwife about this? It's going to be a long and stressful 40 weeks if you're already worrying about Sellotape and tights causing damage to a baby the size of a grape, hidden well behind your pubic bone in a great amount of water.
