Anyone used Viridian products during pregnancy?

Hello,

DH and I have had a few arguments discussions recently regarding the vitamins I take, all of which are on the advice of my midwife. He is something of an amateur nutritionist who only likes taking natural or organic health products and has become a bit 'vocal' about my nutrients / vitamins intake during pregnancy. The main problem is he is very sceptical about the the UK health system in general (he is from Southern Europe) and is convinced that not only are a lot of medical products on sale here unhealthy and dangerous but things like vaccinations are unnecessary.

Anyway I digress. Basically I've taken Boots Folic Acid and Boots Vitamin D and nothing else. I tried Pregnacare but it didn't agree with me. DH has been on the interweb researching the ingredients in Boots vitamin products and is convinced they are 'synthetic and harmful'. I came home last week to discover he had ordered a load of Viridian products including pregnancy Complex and Vit D. He has been pressurizing me ever since to ditch the Boots stuff, which I feel 100% confident about taking, and switch to this new stuff which I do not feel comfortable with at all. I have no objection to alternative / organic products normally but I don't feel that now is the time for me to start experimenting with new vitamins. I spoke to my midwife today and she was quite non-committal, she looked at the Viridian ingredients (most of which I've never heard of) and said they 'seemed ok' but it would prob be best to check with a pharmacist which I will do.

In the meantime I wondered out of interest if anyone else had taken any Virdian products during pregnancy?

Thanks,

Viridian are a very reputable company so there is no reason to feel uncomfortable about using them. They source vitamins from natural rather than synthetic or chemical sources and aim not to add anything that doesn't need to be.
Personally I won't take Boots/Pregnacare supplements as I don't want added extra. I just take iron and Vit D as that is all I feel I need to supplement and I don't want extras.

Obviously though it is up to you. If you are healthy and happy taking Boots supplements stick with it, but Viridian are a very reputable company in the natural health world :)
