OP, I'm not sure it's healthy to be sittingand straining for so long. Could you just take a break and, um, resume where you stopped later?

chocoflump · 16/03/2013 18:10

Been here before, press firmly on your peranium area ( the bit between the front and back) while pushing.

JaquelineHyde · 16/03/2013 18:19

Stop panicing and just imagine the relief you will feel when it finally comes out.

Relax and rotate.

GemmaD12 · 16/03/2013 18:26

What if this will never come out?!!

I just can't push hard enough.

Thanks for all of the advice ladies - I'm trying it all!

Poor you, really hope you're okay. Try taking Lepicol daily. www.lepicol.com/. I swear by it and I'm sure it's made a profound difference to me.

UnexpectedItemInShaggingArea · 16/03/2013 18:31

Are you at home? If so count yourself lucky on that score at least.

I spent 55 minutes in agony, same predicament,in Tesco toilets at 6 months pregnant.

Fakebook · 16/03/2013 18:32

DON'T push. Hold your butt cheeks and rock side to side pulling on the cheeks if that makes sense?

Gingerandcocoa · 16/03/2013 18:35

I don't know if this is medically accurate, but I wouldn't be sitting for too long, specially pregnant, as I've heard it could give you piles?

Maybe try walking around a bit - it really works... or could you have some coffee on an empty stomach?

Rowboat · 16/03/2013 20:44

i'm really hoping you're sorted op, but Im definitely in the squeeze from the outside with your hands camp. its the only thing that worked for me in that situation. i had to work from home that day as i was there for hours!

GemmaD12 · 16/03/2013 22:23

Thanks everyone.

Just as a quick update: I managed to get a tiny bit out eventually, which was enough to let me get off the toilet. It's still "right there", just inside though.

Hopefully I can 'go' before bed tonight, or it's going to be a very uncomfortable night.

Glad uou made progress. I find eating most of a bunch of grapes in one go gets things moving within an hour.

HPsauceonbaconbuttiesmmm · 17/03/2013 07:40

OP, I'd get hold of some glycerine suppositories today. They're not the ideal solution long term but will get you out of your current fix.

Then some fybogel or regular prune juice as recommended above (tastes ridiculously sweet but not too grim).

Good luck. Been there, it's horrid.

offonajolly · 17/03/2013 17:10

I'm telling you, prune juice!!! every day.

Loislane78 · 17/03/2013 19:25

It's mother nature's cruel joke to prepare us for squeezing things out!! I think mother nature is a bit bitchy sometimes, there's no need to inflict this on us :(

Such a nightmare isn't it!

I'm going to go and try again in a few minutes... If I can reduce my anxiety about it a bit!

Don't listen!!! Blush
