Constant pain under left boob/rib

Hi all, I'm 37+2 and for a couple of weeks had such a pain under my left boob, kind of in ribs. I imagine this is something just being pushed into my ribs? It's sometimes really painful, and trying to sleep on my left side makes it ache so much. Did anyone else have this, thinking a hot water bottle might ease it? x

Hiya, I have this in exactly the same place only its on my right! I've had it since I had a horrible cough at Christmas, its rib flare according to my midwife. Mine started at the back near my spine but now hurts exactly where you describe, all the way round sometimes.I find sitting makes its much worse but lying flat helps, however I'm not as far along as you, only 32 weeks, so probably terrible advice for you!, using a hot water bottle is also helpful, and stretches which "open out" my rib area. I saw an osteopath about it on Friday and he really helped it, I'd recommend trying to see one if you can. Hope you're feeling better soon!

Could be the ribs being bruised or the baby kicking the ribs. But if you are having any swelling of your hands and feet or having severe headaches along with it, then go to your doctor and tell them as this can sometimes be a syptom of pre-eclampsia.

I hope it gets better for you soon. :)

In the late stages of both my pregnancies the ribs on my left side hurt, MW told me the baby was sticking their back/bottom out and pushing my ribs out. I found moving position and either standing or lying on cushions/pillows helped but nothing really stopped it till I had the baby.
