Have my scan at 1pm today. And im a mix of emotions from really excited to petrified...
I had a crazy dream when i managed to sleep that there was 6 babies in there :/ the silly things we dream when pregnant are crazy haha.

Any words of wisdom would be wonderful, my fear is them saying theres nothing there.. I know its silly. I cant help it!!

No words of wisdom I'm afraid - I felt the same! Just remember that odds are it will all be fine. Good luck, and try to relax - and even enjoy it!

Also no words of wisdom as I felt exactly the same! I was a zombie when I went for mine convinced they'd tell me there is nothing there and I'd been making it up (didn't help that I had absolutely NO pregnancy symptoms, No MS and was losing weight despite eating whatever I wanted)

But no sure enough there it was, a little baby bouncing around in my belly.

You're going to be fine! Come report back.

Agree, completely normal to be terrified! Try to just focus on seeing your baby for the first time, it's absolutely amazing to experience!

knittingirl · 06/03/2013 11:06

I was the same, totally terrified, but it was amazing and I came out feeling so relieved and light as a feather. Just take a deep breath, and go meet your baby :)

phoenixrose314 · 06/03/2013 11:42

Ooh how exciting!!!

I had no idea what to expect and I think that's why it's so scary - but it was a wonderful, beautiful moment. It was so nice to have some concrete proof that there was a gorgeous little baby growing in there.

Good luck, not that you'll need it - update later please! Grin

Good luck looby it is really scary, but most of the time things are just fine. Be prepared to be told to move around/drink water/go for a wee etc - it's all part of the fun. It can also be a bit uncomfy when they press down but if it hurst it's ok to say so.

At 14 weeks it should be fine, but it's worth mentioning that some people need an internal scan if they can't see clearly normally. It's unlikely but thought I'd mention it as one of my friends had to have one because of a tilted uterus - doesn't hurt, just uncomfortable and it could be a heck of a shock if you didn't know there was a possibility in advance!

Hope it goes well - and take a tissue, it's really emotional when you see your baby the first time.

How did it go?

looby222 · 06/03/2013 22:54

Absolutely amazing!

As soon as she started scanning me my little baby was on screen heart beating, jumping around arms and legs kicking out. It was one of the best momenta of my life! As soon as i saw my little one i fell in love a million times over.

:) and on that i laughed at myself for working myself up.

Oh fantastic news looby! It's just amazing, isn't it Smile So happy for you and try not to worry (although if you're like me you'll be worried sick for the 20 week scan for no reason at all!)

phoenixrose314 · 07/03/2013 09:25

Great news! You must be over the moon - now you get the fun part of telling everyone!!
