I'm 38 weeks today. Just wondering if anyone else is around the same point. Starting to feel a little fed up and I could still be waiting 4 weeks for baby to arrive. I don't have any real symptoms of impending labour at the moment. I am getting quite painfull tightenings with some back ache but saw the mw on friday who said head isn't engaged yet so not expecting much soon. How is everyone else dping?

Still no signs of labour here. Anyone else ?!

No signs here either :(. Not even had many crampings today so any hopes of anything happening soo have all but gone.

I wonder how Szeli is doing things definatly sounded promising for her.

Sigh!! I've had cramps on and off all day but they are just annoying. Not real contractions. Last time I had them for three weeks before I went into labour. At least this time I know what to expect (last time I naively thought I was at the start of labour every time I had the cramps). Boooo.

Nothing here. Had absolutely horrific diarrhoea this afternoon (9 times! Sorry if tmi) so forced myself to go for long walk thinking was definitely it but nothing. Now I just feel sick as a dog and mil takes her car into the garage tomorrow morning and will then be without it all weekend so won't be able to look after ds1 if things kick off so I am also stressedHmm

Nothing here either apart from some seriously bad wind and a few strong BHs. Another 3 weeks of this is going to test me sorely!

Yes, hope Szeli reports in soon! Maybe she'll start the domino effect.....

Hope you all get good nights sleep - or if not, only because you're in labour! Grin

Nothing, nothing, nothing :( told you haha just been away from the laptop all day cos the OH had been doing something with CDs or whatever. I don't care I have a clean house now although I got called "a f***g psycho bitch" for my nazi demands with the Hoover... Ooops :/ I actually don't even feel pregnant any more! xx

Well I hope you're all getting some much needed sleep. I currently on the sofa, in the dark, trying to convince the toddler to go back to bed. Quite why I thought having another was a good idea is beyond meConfused

I don't suppose any of you was the lady who gave birth on the 18.18 to Maidstone last night??

Haha not guilty here! Sounds exciting though Zuleika!

Szeli how annoying - maybe it's the calm before the storm though.... And yes at least your house is nice and clean! Mine's an absolute pigsty thanks to 2-year-old monkey. Wish I had the nesting urge - I do in my head but my body just isn't motivated.

Dirtymistress - yes I was up with toddler as well.... Joy. Why I think it's going to be EASIER when this one is born I have no idea!

And WTF is up with my pelvic floor?

I'm so sick of thinking 'ooh my waters are leaking.... Wait... No, it's just a bit of wee....' Blush

Szeli · 08/03/2013 09:05

I was the same with the nesting so I got the sil round for dinner; houseguests kicks me into cleaning action haha

I can walk about at the mo and I'm eating even more than normal; fingers crossed that means he's engaged...?!

Hear you with the weeing eeek this is a darn sexy time! xx

Still not in labour :-(

What am I meant to do with this birthing ball? x

Report
SayCoolNowSayWhip · 08/03/2013 11:11

Szeli - bounce!

Um... I've just been sitting on mine, legs apart, and bouncing gently up and down, sometimes rotating my hips in a figure of 8. If I bounce hard I get what feels like the beginning of a BH but I read you shouldn't do it too strenuously as that could be bad.... I think there are some YouTube videos that show you how to do it, or of you're trying to get the baby in a good position the Spinning Babies website is good.

But I think just sit and bounce as much as you can (while watching TV, MNing etc...)

2 days till Mothers Day - that's a good birthing day Grin

Can't even get down to the ball with the spd :/ will persevere later. Can labour feel like someone's just ragged a knife thru your stomach whilst kicking you in the down belows? Cos that's the pains coming every couple of minutes but they seem to have slowed down to a dull ache in my entire lower half now :(

Anyone got good news? xx

I think that sounds promising szeliGrin nothing doing here except now my left ankle seems to have given up from overcompensating for my sciatica ridden right side. Joy.

Szeli that does sound encouraging.... Are you timing them? Does walking around make them better or worse?

Report
Szeli · 08/03/2013 14:46

I was walking home at the time and had to stop each time and cling onto my OH for dear life. Came home and they've completely eased off bar the aching and big pressure in bum and lady bits. Had to get out of the bath cos it was too uncomfortable but I'm not convinced at all. If it had carried on like earlier then perhaps but nopes :( he's gonna be on payback with this teasing for the rest if his days! x

Szeli I agree that sounds encouraging. I think you may be the first on this thread to go with all your promising symptoms!

Though me and dp both had terrible night sleep last night, and I have a huge spot which has taken place on my chin so wouldn't surprise me if something happened today for me. My spot would make some lovely post-birth photos. :( Still dillusional

I can join the non-existant pelvic floor club too, not a pretty sight. Though evey time I read those words I do some exercises.

With my birthing ball last time I just sat on it when watching tv or playimg xbox/wii games. Occasionally bouncing/circling my hips. The way you sit is supposed to open up the pelvis and help encourage the head to go lower. Good for early labour iirc. I just found it comfier than any chair/sofa to sit on. None of that this time for me unfortunatley I don't have anywhere to store it really and my toddler would have a field day if it was inflated.
