Hi
I am 36 weeks and my hb and ferratin levels are low . I can't take oral iron tablets bcoz of some gastro problems.they reluctantly referred me to take iron infusions cosmofer. I am so scared bcoz they explained that there is a rare possibility of reaction.
Please if any of you have any positive or negative experience pls share with me.

Hi,

I've had cosmofer before pregnancy and I didn't have any reactions at all. I felt so so much better after it, honestly it was really worth the day spent in out patients :)

Just remember to take plenty of books/magazines/phone charger and snacks with you on the day. Where I was it was filled with elderly patients dosing off and I got bored quickly!

I've also requested to go for an iron infusion (similar reasons to yours) I'm just waiting for the dr to refer me (fingers crossed!). Personally I think I'm going to need the energy for labour and post- labour, and even if there are one or two reactions, tbh in pregnancy I've had enough 'reactions' as to speak and I've had to manage with them.

Hope it all goes well and I'm sure there is nothing to worry about - but do discuss it with your GP/midwife :)
