Just gone to the loo.
Only 5 ish weeks.
Got BFP a week ago.
Been really crampy and uncomfortable and this morning woken up to pain and lots of clotty red blood.
I'm obviously miscarrying.
Just don't know what to do?
Should I speak to NHS or just see how I do?
I have two DC's who I can't spoil Christmas for.

Thanks

Oh hun, please give nhs direct a call I think.
Handholding until someone more wise comes on

Oh I am so sorry. I think the medical advice would be to go to the early pregnancy unit for a scan to confirm your suspicions but its too early for those scans to be reliable. I would wait a few days unless your in real pain or suspect ectopic. But I am not medically trained. Have a big hug.

I had a mc at 5-6 weeks last year. Advice was to wait it out at home, use any pain relief necessary, and monitor the bleeding. They don't scan this early normally. But if it is too painful or bleeding too heavy to cope at home, obviously go to a+e.
Miserable timing though :(

Very sorry at this news - it's really horrible. I remember not knowing what to do at all when I started a mc 18 mths ago. Best to call and they'll either say stay in bed and don't move, in case you can rest it out, or to go in for a scan. Either way, if you decide you want to stay in bed instead of going in, you can. If you are miscarrying, they can't do anything about it and you'll be under much more stress hanging around a hospital; as stuff says, an ectopic would usually mean real pain.

Oh, so sorry. I would give nhs direct a ring, just to be on the safe side. As others have said, keep an eye on any pain and high temps. Lots of love x

Sorry love, I had this three months ago. I stayed at home and checked in with the out of hours doctor by phone.

Miserable luck for Christmas Day. Big hug. (If it helps at all I got pregnant again very quickly).

Felt shite all day. Still bleeding heavily.
Held it together and didn't tell any if my family.
Just my Christmas ruined.
Going for scan to confirm all gone on Fri.

Sorry lovely, what a horrid thing to happen to you, I'm so impressed you managed to hold it all together to ensure everyone else had a great Xmas. You must be sobbing inside.

I had to do the same on DS1's birthday when I was miscarrying and had to host his party. His BD is always bittersweet for me.

Like whyno I was pg again v quickly which for some is a comfort.

Hope 2013 brings happiness for you.
