6 weeks pregnant after two miscarriages

I am 31 years old and found out on Monday that I am 6 weeks pregnant. I was over the moon as I lost a baby at 8 weeks in 2008 and another at 13 weeks in 2009 both times I got pregnant straight away. My hubby and I decided to have a rest from the physical and emotional turmoil.
We started trying again at the beginning of this year but it has taken ages to catch this time.

On Tuesday at work I started to feel discomfort which turned to pain and when I went to the toilet found that there was brown blood. I know people say that brown blood is old blood and shouldn't be a worry but this is just how it started both times before.
My doctor has booked me for an early scan in Friday but I'm going out of my mind worrying.
Any one else had similar experiences?

My story is similar to yours. I had two m/c last year one at 8 weeks one at 11.

I then fell pg again and around 6 weeks i had pain low down, spent the night in hospital and had many tests and scans which showed a sac but not yet a hb. Was sent away thinking i'd lost again and had to wait an agonizing two weeks went back and there was a strong heartbeat. I'm currently 31 weeks.

I know it's so difficult but try and stay optimistic, keep busy if you can your chances of another m/c are not necessarily higher after two.

Thank you Sleepy. Your message has been a great comfort to me. Glad to hear things are going so well for you. I feel more positive today after a good night's sleep and no more spotting for about 14 hours. Hoping for a great result tomorrow.
When are you due? Do you know the gender?

Ruthie I am on the same boat - at 5w2d. Had a missed miscarriage at 11wks and then another this time a natural miscarriage at 7 weeks. We also decided to stop and give it a break and last week I found out I was pregnant again. On Sunday I had some brown discharge (this is how I found out about my missed miscarriage) and this whole week i've been having some with pain as well. My GP said it was all fine and there was nothing he could do. This morning i decided enough was enough so went to the EPU clinic. They were fab, I got an internal scan so they could see the sac and yolk and it is measuring right for the time and it is in the right place (I started fearing ectopic) no explanation for the brown discharge apart from: a lot of people have it. Of course they can't see a heart beat yet but I walked out feeling reassured and a lot more positive. Keep saying to myself, this is a new pregnancy not the same as I had before so it can be different.
I hope you're ok, it is a very tough time to get through. I see my friends who never had a miscarriage and how they cruise through it and i can't help but feel slighly jealous but we will get there in the end!

Thank you Isthisnormal. I am feeling a lot more positive about it all today. I am thrilled that your scan went well. Hope I get a good result tomorrow as well. It is so hard to relax when you have had miscarriages before and as lovely as my friends are they don't understand no matter how much they try. It means so much to get positive responses from people who understand. Thank you and I wish you a happy, healthy pregnancy.

I had the scan today. They couldn't find anything. Apparently this means it is too early or could mean an ectopic. They took blood today and I am back on Sunday for more tests so that they can check if hormone levels are going up.

Thought I would update this for anyone who comes across this thread looking for comfort. After a rocky start and bleeding up until 10 weeks, I am now 26 weeks pregnant and all appears to be going well.

This has pleased me so much, thanks for the update!
I am currently 6 weeks pg after 2 miscarriages and trying not to be anxious but it's not easy! Good to hear a positive story.
