Gigs + bump = a good idea?

I've always loved going to see bands and I figured just because I'm PG it shouldn't stop me. There are loads of gigs I've got tickets for this month and next but last week I went to the first one since I've been visibly PG. It started - wore my tight dress and someone even gave up their seat for me. Watched the support band and had a few sneaky sips of my DH's beer. But then the main band came on and they seemed SO MUCH louder. I suddenly panicked that it was too loud for my baby's newly formed ear drums. When DH asked if I was all right, I burst into tears saying I was deafening my baby Sad

Oh dear!

We ended up leaving after 3 songs because, although my DH wasn't quite as hormonal as me(!) this is our first and I guess it highlights how uncertain we are about, well, everything. Of course as soon as we got home we read online that sound is like hearing everything underwater for a baby in the womb and they're very protected. But I was so ready to sell or give up all my tickets - the first time I'd felt the protection instinct I guess.

I now feel much better after reading common sense from many moms-to-be who went to see bands while up to 8/9 months PG. So there's no way I'm giving up my tickets to see The Killers next month!!!!!! Grin

Anyone been in the same quandary? Would you go to a gig pregnant? Who's seeing what bands in the next few months?

Enjoyed the Mission at 39 weeks. Although during aftershow party the singer did comment '...I take it you're on the guestlist with a 'plus one', then?' Grin.

Caused minor panic in minibus of mates on way back when BH kicked in with a vengeance, causing me to mutter 'ouch' & double over.

I'm going to see Muse next week. DD has also seen them 'in utero' (I'm a huge fan).
I've get lots of upcoming gigs this time around. The latest I'm going (so far) is 36 weeks. I've got seated tickets but that's the only change I've made.

Hmmmm. I was a bit of a gig goer and did festivals etc in early pregnancy with DC1. Went to a very loud and long gig at 32 weeks and went into premature labour a few days later. On the flip side, DC1 is very musical. [hwink]
