I fell pregnant again when my ds was 16 weeks old. There is a year and 15 days between him and dd (now 1.5 and 6 months). It's great ! I have got it 'over and done with'. I love my children to bits and am really happy that they are so close together in age (although it wasn't planned). You will cope - don't worry. Best of luck Smile

Bozza · 23/03/2006 13:14

Why were you not using a condom if you had a period already but not gone back on the pill? Given that you didn't want to get pregnant.

nickyp08 · 23/03/2006 13:43

There is 10 months ....just.... in between me and my brother both born in 1975, mum said it wasn't as bad as she thought it would be, once i had stopped cying non stop!

waterfalls · 23/03/2006 13:48

Bozza
she is a full grown woman, and does'nt need a lecture on the birds and the bees.

Sparklemagic · 23/03/2006 14:04

errrr...but maybe she does given the situation she finds herself in Wink

HappyMumof2 · 23/03/2006 14:16

lol, that's what I was thinking! Grin

Bozza · 23/03/2006 14:19

think I probably posted what a lot of you were thinking. Realise that it wasn't very tactful but it was a question not a lecture.

moondog · 23/03/2006 14:27

Hmmm, don't view my children as something to 'get over and done with' either....

HappyMumof2 · 23/03/2006 14:29

no, I enjoyed dragging mine out a bit! (4.4yrs age gap) Want my two's childhoods to last as long as possible Sad

SnowdropsInTheSpring · 23/03/2006 14:32

I have three friends that all got pg when their babies were babies! One has 7months between (early 2nd baby) the others have just under a year. They have all coped and the kids are really close.

Hope that makes you feel a bit better....

mrsmaddyd · 23/03/2006 14:42

Monnie having two so close togther will be worth it in the end. Mine are close and it was hard work the first 18months but now they are happily playing toghther in the garden and im so pleased they have each other for company.

Take Care, Take it easy. Your a very lucky lady CONGRATULATIONS.

spinach · 23/03/2006 19:37

she doesnt need a lecture! just a sit down and something to help recover from shock! It'll work out fine minnie. hope you're okay.

MINNIE1 · 23/03/2006 21:40

Thanks for all the positive thoughts, I know its not the end of the world and i know i will cope..

But one thing i will not take is somone telling me about how thick i am! Yes we could have used a condom but the heat of the moment is hard to say no to!

Thanks for all your messages its good to hear other views and the view of poeple that were in my position..

O and the doctor has confirmed it but her test was very faint so we will see over the wkend..

Won't be previous pregnancy as the hormones that give you the BFP start to decline after the first trimester- will be all gone by the time you give birth.

There is 11 months between dh and his sister. I'm just impressed you were upt to it :o

Good luck- it'll be fun!

spinach · 23/03/2006 21:48

beetroot · 23/03/2006 21:49

chipmonkey · 23/03/2006 23:06

fenny1 · 24/03/2006 08:32

Good Luck and congrats on the baby you already have!
Glad your DP is being supportive, he was there at the crutial moment after allWink

podkin · 24/03/2006 08:44

Moondog - I don't view my children as something to get 'over and done with' either. I was talking about it in the context of pregnancy as personally I hate being pregnant, and am glad that I don't have to go through it again, when I am older. My poor knackered body couldn't cope !

congrats again minnie glad to hear that the shock part of it is finally going.... you'll be fine!! Smile

lovecloud · 25/03/2006 13:31

Congratulations Minnie!

I know you must be shocked but you will manage, us women are tough and you can get through this :)

It will be like having twins but easier as they wont be babies at the same time but as the years go on there will seem like there is no gap between them.

My friend fell pregnant 6 weeks after giving birth to her daughter and she did find the pregnancy tiring but she is coping fine and she just accepts any kind of helped offered to her even if its just a friend coming over to make her lunch - accept all offers and ask people if you need to :)

You will be fine
