Okay, strange post here. After deciding to plough ahead onto the long road of single motherhood (with family support-of course ) it has genuinely shocked me a) how much magazines and books suggest I should buy? (are they for real) and b) how much everything costs. I don't have much money- well none. So I can't be like the catologued women I desire to be, im wondering if anyone else is at this point or has been? I'm in the middle of leaving my partner so im scouring eBay, charity shops, and entering tons of competitions and I'm becoming a coupon collector!. Does this sound really bad and cheap and mean I a) shouldn't be doing this or b) am going to be a bit rubbish. Thanks guys, Pickle, bump and Jack Russell x

I would be very specific about your list of what you want:
5X suits in ? size etc.
I find people want to buy you something you need and if you have a specific list they're happy.

You don't need a bath, I used a sink despite having a "fantastic" baby bath, you may or may not need a pram, seriously consider your day to day activities, I've used mine 3 times at cafes only because he was too small for the high chair I have a car and trolleys have a place for babies, fancy outfits look very uncomfortable and are a pain at changing time until they're much older. I never used a change table, had a mat I moved around. Check eBay daily, I sold heaps of top quality things buy it now cheap because I just wanted them to be used.

The things I've needed for all of mine:
Cot (cheap), long sleeve suits in all sizes, leggings to go over, sling/carrier, activity mat, reclining chair/ bouncer thing, and a luxury that I have loved has been an activity table which has a part for them to stand in. Life saver when you want to shower etc without them being able to get away.
