Have they called your DH to come in? Is this your first labour? Good luck.

berri · 13/12/2011 02:24

I'm awake, in USA at the mo!

Sorry to hear, I know from experience what you're going through as my DS was born at 31 weeks and I was in hospital for 3 or 4 nights beforehand. Impossible to sleep isn't it!

Have the midwives given you all the info you need? Is your DH at home?

xkatyx · 13/12/2011 02:31

This is my 4th pregnancy with twins so baby number 4 and 5 :)

It's so hot in here even though it's so windy out I think the hospital is going to blow away!

Dh is home with kiddies but an be on hand at any time (thanks to a great nanny)

Oh god I have forgotten how awful these pains are

It really hurts doesn't it. Have you got the gas & air yet?

girlsyearapart · 13/12/2011 02:48

Blimey good luck

I'm up with ds1 (never typed that before!!) who is dc4.

He's 9 days old & all for sleeping as long as it's in close proximity to my boob & not anywhere that I could possibly get anything done/sleep

How old are your other children?

xkatyx · 13/12/2011 02:52

There calling the doctors down now.

I have ds8,dd5,dd11 months

Congratulations on your a new baby.

This will be the last time I do this that is fr sure ha

No gas and air just waiting to see if anything happening with cervix and then it will be a csection as there are identical twins

Yes exactly same here- last time for definite!
First time I've felt like that.

I have 3 girls who are 4.3,3.3 & 16 months.

Good luck with everything tonight do you know if they are boys or girls?

Check back in the morning (in a few hours who am I kidding?!)

berri · 13/12/2011 03:17

Best of luck - wow dc 4&5 that's amazing! Yes please keep us updated & keep your mind off the pain!

berri · 13/12/2011 03:20

By the way, go for the gas & air if you can - a midwife once told me a theory that if you can dampen the pain slightly right from the start, it tends to not get terrible - compared with trying to get the g & a to work when you are in lots of pain. If you see what I mean.

Anyway you are a pro at this by now so feel free to ignore that!

Very exciting that you'll soon meet the two newest members of your family though.

Hmm making me a little broody :)

yummicheddars · 13/12/2011 08:30

I hope everything went ok :)

xkatyx · 13/12/2011 08:38

Morning everyone, the pains were terrible last night and every 3 minutes apart, the doctor did a examination and still no movement on my cervix, I couldn't believe it!! I have had no pain relief at all before in my labors but last night I would of taken anything!

They gave me strong painkillers that helped me sleep and eebutally took the edge off them.

Just waiting to see the doctors now and see what there plan is for me

Hope you are ok and the pains have stopped. What have the doctors said? X

xkatyx · 13/12/2011 14:19

I'm just on a wait and see plan at the moment, pains have eased and only seam to start in the evening

Sounds like fun ..

Fwiw I found pregnancy number 4 the hardest & for about 4 nights before labour I couldn't sleep for painful contractions.

By the time it really happened I was in denial & was 9cm by the time I got to hospital and he was born 5 minutes later.

Can imagine a twin pregnancy must be at least twice as hard.

Why do they have to do a c section?

xkatyx · 14/12/2011 10:55

I'm being sent home to rest with pain killers.

Having a csection as babies share placenta so too much of a risk!!

I'm in complete denial and never think the babies will be birn

girlsyearapart · 15/12/2011 21:11

Good luck. Hope you manage to rest a little bit.

Didnt realise that about the placenta twins are really quite fascinating arent they? (in a tiring way of course!)
