Maternity clothes for tall people..... help please.

Im so fed up.

All i want is some long sleeved tops, dark colours, to layer underneath some long tunic style dress things.

The sleeves arent long enough, or they dont cover my back, or the bump bit is in the wrong place.

I usually use Next, but eveythings out of bloody stock.

Im cold, please help. :)

Have you tried jumper dresses and leggins, warm and comfortable. I am living in them as they have some give in and look cute with winter boobs.

I'm 6ft and have found that Asda long sleeve tops are great but depends how far along you are- I've got 2 weeks left and finding these are getting a bit short over the bump now!

I'm just shy of 6ft and have struggled with the tummy issue, although I'm only 18 weeks so bump isn't really noticeable yet. I do have these on my radar for when I get bigger though ...

I am just under 6ft. Since my last pregnancy bloody Dorothy Perkins has stopped doing maternity wear in the shop in our town, but might be worth a trip to a large store or website? They certainly used to have a couple of pairs of jeans and a couple of work trousers in longer lengths.

H&M standard maternity trousers are super long, I have a fab pair of grey cords which must be a 36" leg, despite normal H&M trousers flapping around my ankles. So well worth a try. I had to get a size up from pre-pg size though.

Long Tall Sally has maternity jeans on their website but the 2nd hand pair I bought off eBay make me look like a 1980s plumber so do try them on if you can

New Look tend to do a very limited number of their maternity trousers in a 34 leg.

Next - you'll need "Extra Long" as their "Long" is only about 32" I think!

Try eBay. Search for "Maternity long" and switch the description search on. I've got a couple of secondhand Next & DP pairs for a few quid each there (as well as the plumber jeans).

Well definitely have a look at H&M then.

Also the new look tall range has a lot of jersey / tunic tops that could probably do for the first 6 months or so.

Depending on the fabric / cut non-maternity clothes might work just as well.

Im living in leggings/long tops at the minute, but I think i've only got a couple of weeks before I need some jeans/work trousers, so thats all really helpful!

Topshop do a tall maternity range too - I know you're looking for tops and I've not tried theirs but they do trousers up tp 34"/36"

tallgirls.co.uk, no specific maternity tops but normal tops for the taller lady may work

I got a load of charity shop stuff a size or two too big - long tunics to wear with tops or leggings. I've also found H&M and TopShop good.

I'm only 5'8 (not a phrase I put together often!), but I've found stuff in Pumpkin Patch to be reasonably sized as well - they don't have a huge selection but they often have a sale on.

I know its not long sleeved, but M&S cami-strap vest tops seem to be super stretchy and quite long, and I've used them for layering up before now whilst pretty far gone.

I second the recommendation of H&M, their basic scoop/ v-neck tops (the stretchy type) fit nicely on the sleeves and the shoulder seams sit properly on a taller frame.
I'm 5'10 and found I could lift my arms above my head without baring my midriff to all and sundry (I don't walk around with my arms above my head, I wore them for exercising, too!)
I think they're still £7.99 or thereabouts so great price for the quality (they wash nicely)

I cut the straps of some vest tops, them wore them over the bump and down as far as required, as I found bump bands (or whatever they are called) just weren't wide enough and rode up. Then it didn't matter if the tops and trousers didn't meet properly. I should perhaps still be wearing them to cover the "belt of despair/least favourite muscle", but I chucked all my maternity stuff away with a loud cheer.

That's a useful tip for b/feeding too suprene - I did that so that I could feed without showing off my postnatal middriftavalanche.

The H&M website is truly crap. You have to search for the item eg "Trousers" and then select "MAMA" from the list of options down the left hand side.

There are a couple of specialist websites in the US with maternity stuff for taller women that deliver internationally - should come up if you do a web search.

I got the tall maternity capsule from Tall Maternity Store, it has jeans, work trousers and yoga pants, they are lovely and a good fit. No tops on there at the min but you can email them and suggest new products i think

I got sone stuff from funmum.com can't remember if it wad a tall range or if they specifically cater for tall people. Either way, they were good

Have similar problem. Believe it or not, Primark's vest tops and long sleeved t-shorts are very long this year - they completely cover my bump and some way below. They'll probably only last the one pregnancy (which is why I wouldn't usually recommend Primark), but they are cheap, and have a lot of lycra so you can get away with them. I usually wear size 12-14 tops and have bought a batch of size 18-20 and they fit great.

I was quite surprised to find something useful! I only went in to look for very cheap knickers (don't want paper knickers for the hospital).
