could i be pregnant even though we use condoms and its never broke?!

im 2 days late, i keep track of my periods and im never late! we use condoms every time and it's never broke, i'm assuming that im just late as i cant see how i could actually be pregnant, we're so careful!
I had extreamly sore boobs last week, to the point where it hurt if i didn't have a bra on, it's not so bad now but the only time i've had that in the past was when i was pregnant although i do know people get it before a period is due. Trying not to read too much into anything but its hard when you start thinking about it!
I would be thrilled if i as pregnant, not ideal timing as i have two boys under 3 already but another one will be planned at some point!
Just wondering if anyone else has got pregnant whilst using condoms and NOT broken?!
Currently at work so i will wait out the day and get a test ready to take in the morning if nothing has happened!

Are you actually saying that you think condoms have a 100% safety rate?! What rock have you had your head under your whole life?!

yes you could be pregnant. condoms can have a tiny hole, manufacturing defect, too small to see the leak.

i don't think they are 100% but i know if used correctly it's a really really small chance! Especially seeing as we always check to make sure there isn't a leak!
we're particularly careful as i got pregnant twice on the pill so we stopped replying on that and moved to condoms!
I know two days isnt much but you know what its like once you start thinking about it and becuase im never late just seems to have my imagination in over-drive!!!! :)

Also important in reliabilty factor is at what stage it is actually put on! [hwink]

Pre-ejaculation semen has resulted in a few babies I know!

So you say you know there is a small chance. There's the answer to your question- yes, you could be pregnant.

Whatever the reliability is (estimated to be up to 98%), this is for perfect use. So for all women that rely on condoms, 2% will have them fail with no obvious problems at the time.

I was in that 2%. We had no breaks, no leakage, no idea.

it was put on well before that thing went anywhere near me!!! ha ha! Wink
i wouldn't be upset if i was pregnant, far from it but we are liking our sleep that we have only just got used too! either way im sure the result will be perfect! i think i would kind of be sad now if i wasnt... i cant help but be 10 steps ahead of myself! Hmm

ha ha, we'll see! Grin i wont lie i do love kids but the thought of a 3 year old, a two year old and a baby might push me over the edge!
I've bought a test on my lunch, will take it later, not sure i can wait as i start over thinking and so best to know now!!!

well i took a test and it was a BFN, think i might be a little sad about this so maybe i will be having a chat with my man when i get home! Smile
i have another test so if i still haven't come on in a few days i will take another (although knowing me i wont wait that long and i will do it tomorrow!!!!)

If you test again use first morning urine as it tends to be more accurate as stroger hormone levels. Sorry about bfn, good luck next month... lol

Just for info - you can get pg if you are using a condom if either of you get any sperm on your hands and then it gets transferred to anywhere near the danger zone. You know, if you carry on playing afterwards, or he comes once before the condom goes on....

Hi,

I'm pregnant from using condoms, I also fell pregnant on the pill and after taking morning after pill.
It was only about 12 weeks after having our baby.
We decided to use condoms as others didnt work and dh was going to have the snip.
But I fell pregnant after using condom that in both out opinion didn't rip or split.

Anyhooo I am 29+2 weeks with twins and couldn't be happier that we have them on the way :) we are very excited!

But there will no pill or condoms jut dh having the snip and not coming near unroll he has lol.

I hope you get the answer you want, I'm a strong believer inthings happening for a reason. Good luck

And Dani just wanted to add that with two of mine it took til 4 days late for me to get BFP, its not over til AF appears!!!

wow xkatyx, thats quite a story! some people are just SUPER fertile i guess!
still not sign of the period... i will give it until Friday and take another test! i had some bloody discharge yesterday but a really tiny amount (sorry TMI) and thought maybe it would kick off the flow but still nothing. Seems unfair that the body plays tricks like this. Hummmm!
Does it make a difference what sort of test you take? I used a boots one so im assuming it would pick up the hormone the same as the more expensive ones??

I think it's unlikely that there would be a hole in the condom. I mean it's possible but normally this would make it liable to split, so you would probably notice.

However it's possible that sperm can come out around the base of it, say it slips a bit inside you, or gets a bit rucked up, that might allow some leakage.
That's why it's important to 'disengage' after ejaculation, so that the condom is still on properly and not gone all floppy. [hgrin]

i just cant see that we are pregnant, we're so careful and we always 'disengage' quickly after to avoid any 'spillages' Grin
i think im just getting over excited by it all... thinking back it would be near impossible for it to have happened unless there was a split which we didn't see! Confused

Hi, was wondering whether you were pregnant when posting this post as I used condoms with my boyfriend and there was no holes in and we never took it off and I haven't come on yet. I am 17 and not in the right place to be pregnant now.
