Can someone tell me if I have forgotten anything?

I know there have been so many threads about this but just need someone to tell me to stop panicking!

So far I have:

Towel/flannel
Pants
Maternity pads (3 x 10pack)
Nighties x 2 for labour and one after
Jogging bottoms and vest tops to act as pjs for the ward
Toiletries - shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, toothpaste, face wipes, hairbrush, bobbles and clips (toothbrush will go in at end)
Carrier bag for dirties
Slippers
Socks
Phone charger.

Have I missed anything essential? I haven't started babys bag yet as I haven't washed any of the clothes yet, doing that this weekend. So far that has pretty much filled a small pull along case, like an air hostess has. Is that ridiculous? I'm going to have to have an extra holdall for baby things. I feel a prat going with 2 bags.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

DEODORANT!!! If you're anything like me and sweat copiously during strenuous exercise, then you will be really niffy after the birth!!! And socks. Strangely feet get v cold in labour.

And some hospitals like your baby to wear a hat straight after you've had them as well, although Tommys provides them for you, which is sweet.

This isn't for your hospital bag, but a general tip in response to sherbetpips - when you do the wiping with cotton wool on the tar poo, using olive oil on the cotton wool makes it massively easier!!! Strange, but true!

I would definitely recommend taking one of those stretchy headband things in addition to bobbles- I really wanted my hair off my face.

Also, more of an after labour thing, but I found witchhazel gel an absolute godsend for stitches so may be worth getting some of that too.

I definitely second what tunnocksteacake says about maternity pads... get loads. Normal sanitary pads just won't cut it!!

Oh and don't feel a prat for going in with two bags- I had one for me and one for lo... made life much simpler.

I have been wondering about all of this and Im only 25 weeks. Ive just written alist from all of your thoughts - thank you! Just a thought, of maybe bringing your Ipod? From the sounds of it, snoring could be replaced by some light music!:)

will second the person who said bendy straws.......hard to use a cup when in the middle of things! Grin

One of my friends recommended a bottle of prune juice for afterwards to encourage that dreaded first poo - was a hot tip ;)

My sister and her friends all had a tub of vasaline near by for the birth to rub on baby's bum and then the tar poo just slides off! Haven't had mine yet but now have a great long list! Thanks all!
