Orgasmic Labour?

Anyone had one?

I stumbled on today and had to ask.

Am wondering if the women channelled their pain into feelings of pleasure or if women are evolving to find labour a pleasurable experience.

I have read that it is more common than most people know for some women to orgasm while breastfeeding and the theory is that it is nature's way of making it an enjoyable experience, but had never heard of this before Shock

I think the main thing I have taken from this is to trust my body despite my fears.

I'm going to expect the pain and not an orgasm, but be open to just letting go and letting it just happen IYSWIM.

Thanks ladies Grin

i find it a bit of a strange concept tbh.. how a lot of people feel afterwards is generally more to do with relief and adrenalin rush, than to do with orgasms. its known thruout history that childbirth is painful, never really heard this theory mentioned throughout history, as it probably would have been if it was natural. letting go of your mind and just getting on with it as tortilla said, that makes sense, but i really dont see the need of anyone to sexualise it
but op good luck with your birth, hope it goes well!

My MIL had an orgasmic birth with one of her 4 kids.
I know this because she told me about it in way too much detail!

I read Ina May and Hypnobirthing and despite SPD requiring an epidural was incredibly chilled out throughout the whole thing, which will do me nicely.

I'm just guessing here, but you know the euphoria you get at the completion of any arduous experience..... erm, a mixture of release, aggression, pain, anticipation, hormones, relief, acheivement, sheer elation, love, thank f**ck that's all over and wow, how cool am I for growing this thing for nearly a year....could actually feel orgasmic, but really I feel it's a bit of a bloody understatement. Orgasm, pretty easy really (or maybe that's just me...) any old day of the week. Birthing a new person, that's soooo much more. It's more of a spiritual thing than sexual, isn't it?
Or maybe I'm just trying to put my own spin on it, at 37 weeks preg with number 2...................
I'm not sure if I'd notice an orgasm (nice though they are) in the mess of other emotions.......
Pain free would be nice though!
