Pregnancy insomnia

I'm 26+4 and for the past few weeks seem to be suffering from insomnia. I'm not particularly worried or stressed about anything, but I do have mild pgp which means I am uncomfortable most of the time.

Currently averaging 4-5 hours sleep a night and am struggling to get to sleep before 2.30-3am - so I am exhausted and am worried that if this continues I'll be rung out by the time baby arrives! Luckily I'm not working at the moment, so being a zombie during the day isn't too problematic, but it is doing my head in nonetheless!

Any advice?

Hello all, got a good tip for heartburn.... Squeeze some fresh lemon juice in a glass of water to drink.

Sounds bizarre, but it really works - or does for me anyway. DH told me about it, apparently the acid in the lemon juice turns to alkaline when it hits the water, so it calms down acid reflux I guess.

I always have one before going to bed and it's been really good. I hate Gaviscon....

Worth a try - lot cheaper than Gaviscon too!

Hi all, I also lose the ability to sleep in late pregnancy. Go to sleep no problem but wake up about 2 and don't get back to sleep till 5. Then have to get up with toddler DD, blugghh.

But just to confirm the tip mentioned above - radio 4 on quiet works for me. I always do it if unwell also, sends me off to sleep. Also I listen to podcasts, plays comedy etc.

Good luck for tonight
