I'm 32 weeks now (4th preg), I've never taken RLT before - what does everyone think, any good or not? And if so, when do you start and at what dose and tea or tablet?

Any and all opinions gratefully received.

Thanks!

Would just like to start this thread up again if you don't mind because I was just about to start taking rl tablets yesterday as it reads on the jar that you can start from 28 weeks (I am currently 33 weeks and desperate for a homebirth in water). Does anyone else have an idea of when to start? I don't want to start too early and risk having to go into hospital for an early delivery but at the same time, I would like to use them to their best effect. My MW suggested 36 weeks? Any more ideas

I've taken raspberry leaf tea in both my pregnancies and fit in with the late, 41+ weeks, but quick pattern. My second labour took under an hour and dh had to deliver the baby.

Both times my labours were fairly pain free and no tears.

Ususally people suggest you start taking tehm between 34 and 36 weeks.

Im 33wks and started taking them maybe two weeks ago but instead of taking 6 a day i took 2 for the first week, 3 the next and am now on 4, iv heard it cant induce early labour just help it progress when you finally do go in2 labour

I've been taking them since I was 35+ weeks & they've definately made my Bh's stronger & more frequent. I'm now up to 6/day & I'm 38+4 so I'll be able to tell you soon (hopefully) if they help make the contractions more forceful.

shinyshilling, you can take them in the last 8 weeks. (i've a degree in nutrition and own a health shop and I took them for 8 weeks during both my pg)
most brands of tablets that I know of are 2 or 3 a day, depending on their strength.

if you are using tea bags...3 cups a day is recommended. make sure it is raspberry LEAF tea(from the leaf of the plant) and not rapberry tea(from fruit).
