I'm almost 34 weeks and we need to get the pram business sorted. Wondering what everyone else recommends having done the homework? The more I testdrive and read, the less I know! It's going to be a present so we can get a reasonably good one but not sure what that is exactly. I'm not a big Bugaboo or Quinny fan, but quite like the Stokke and the BabyOyster.

Any tips?

Oh god, don't get the Stokke Xplory whatever you do.

We bought one for DD1 (born January 2008). She used it for 18 months, and by the end of that time the seat support had started collapsing, so you couldn't adjust the height - you could only have the seat down the bottom of the pole.

Put it away, got it out again for DD2 (born Feb 2011) and lo and behold, first time we put her in the bassinet, the support collapsed again.

DD1 is smack on the 50th centile for weight, and refused to get into any pram after she was 18 months old.

I am going to take it back to the shop and have an almighty row with them - a $1600 pram that starts collapsing after 18 months has a design or construction fault, in my view.

Interestingly, DH saw someone with a Stokke Xplory in a shopping centre a few weeks ago, and she said she'd had problems with it collapsing but Stokke were being really unhelpful.

Having spent a lot of time with the iCandy Peach Blossom Twin belonging to one of my friends, we're getting the single version. Just a dream to push, great to manoevre, both of us love it.
