Your cravings - sweet or savoury?

MrsSawyer · 15/03/2011 12:15

Mine are all savoury, quavers, cheese spread, spaghetti hoops, no chocolate, cakes, pastries or anything. The only sweet thing ive fancied is haribo but just more of a "i could eat some haribo" not a "if i dont eat some dairylea in the next 2 minutes, ill hit someone" :-)

Come tell me yours and what do they mean?

Sweet = boy/girl?

green olives! dribble

loueytb3 · 16/03/2011 15:45

Oooh this is very interesting...

1st pg - savoury all the way through. Twin boys

2nd pg - savoury in first trimester (while MS was rampant) and then a sweet tooth kicked in and I have to eat chocolate/cakes every day. I rarely eat either normally. Don't know what I'm having (25wks) but would quite like a girl

rrreow · 16/03/2011 16:27

Most of my cravings occurred in the first trimester and they were all savoury! After 1st trimester I could stomach sweet stuff again, but to be honest I've never had a huge sweet tooth (apart for things like Haribo and strawberry laces.. I love those). Also been craving fast food slightly more often than usual. I'm expecting a boy by the way.

facefull · 16/03/2011 16:46

Ice cubes morning noon and night.....im having a boy. In fact ice with all of them, all boys!

lizandlulu · 16/03/2011 16:46

MrsSawyer · 21/03/2011 10:58

i'm ten wks and so far it's been orange juice and cheese...any ideas what I may be having???

eastegg · 21/03/2011 13:21

Normally a savoury girl but last preg wanted sweet more than usual - had boy.

This time am definitely craving savoury but won't be finding out what I'm having so can't help you there just yet! Should be a boy according to the old wives' tale.

lizandlulu · 21/03/2011 13:57

how far do you have to be for you to be able to tell from the heartbeat?

and which way round is it? i know its something to do with a train and a horse but not sure which

Mads76 · 21/03/2011 14:14

I've had a mish mash of cravings. The consistent one has been for milky cereal. I also love salt and vinegar crisps, chocolate and cakes and would eat all three in succession. Due today so will know for sure within the next two weeks whether its a boy or a girl..

MrsSawyer · 21/03/2011 14:16

If it sounds like a "choo choo" train, its a boy, a galloping horse, its a girl.

apples82, im the same and assumed it was another boy, but now im not so sure Confused

see I heard the galloping horse or like fire crackers/bangers popping away in my tummy when I did it at home, but the 'wowwowow' type of a noise we thought was the placenta is apparently the heart at 150-160 bpm. So unsure which is right, was so long ago with DS I can't recall. do none of you have like a 'wowowow' sort of a sound?

G1nger · 21/03/2011 19:51

I'm not really getting the concept of "craving" foods. What I have is just a whole heap of food aversions... whilst the things I'm left with are what I eat. I eat a LOT of bacon and sausages. I also love soy sauce, and I spent February eating orange juice ice lollies. All of the foods I'm enjoying are highly-flavoured (I can't go bland right now). But are they cravings? I don't think so.

lizandlulu · 21/03/2011 20:03

davidtennantsmistress mine is the wowowowo kind of sound, i cant really make it out to be one or the other.

and g1nger i am having aversions too rather than cravings. i have gone off the sweet stuff tho and so will eat savoury more, and gone off tea completlySad

Eggs - boiled, fried, scrambled or poached and lots of them

BuntyCollocks · 01/07/2012 17:48

Dc1 - salt and vinegar crisps.
This baby - nada! Just awful awful sickness! Turned a corner now though I think.

Splinters · 01/07/2012 17:53

Alphabites! I haven't had them since I was about 9, and now I can't find them anywhere :<

Also ham. I am a vegetarian.

minipie · 01/07/2012 18:09

Sweet (and I am usually much much more of a savoury person). We are having a girl

But the heartbeat definitely sounds like a train to me!

charlottec21 · 11/11/2014 16:56

I am usually a savoury person but since bring pregnant I am loving the sweet stuff!! 1st and 2nd trimester all I wanted was the sour skittles, I would go through atleast 4 bags a week especially as they were on offer for £1 in tesco too!! They would always go down nicely with a carton of cranberry and raspberry juice!! Now in my last trimester I just want chocolate - yesterday all I wanted was crispy milkyway bars and ate so much chocolate cake!!
I dont know what I'm having but sounds like it might be a girl to me!! CakeSmile

Burmama · 11/11/2014 17:17

Interesting theory about gender prediction. I normally have a massive sweet tooth but in first tri went way off everything sweet in a big way. Couldn't stomach choc or biscuits and even fruit made me heave. Boy. Smile

mumofthreegirls80 · 11/11/2014 17:21

I was a big chocoholic before being pregnant! Now i ain't Shock I crave savoury things! Salty things mainly! I also can't stand the smell of greasy sausages lol! I'm having a girl Grin

Jodie1982 · 11/11/2014 17:31

Ice (craved in my last 4 pregnancies also) and Polos.

bakingmad83 · 11/11/2014 19:03

I'm expecting a boy and particularly during the first tri couldn't face anything sweet, even though I usually love all things sweet
