Hi there, I am worries as I have done a CB test this morning and it has told me that I am 1-2 weeks pregnant (I am 5 weeks and 3 days)... I am concerned because the two tests I have done in the last week said 2-3 weeks. Has anyone else had tests with reducing results and still had a healthy pregnancy? I will not be having my 1st scan for another 12 days (I hate waiting)

Somewhere in the instructions it says that beyond a certain number of weeks it goes awry.

Congratulations! And don't pee on any more sticks! :)

nannyl · 13/02/2011 20:21

my friend had one that told her she wasnt even pg!

She Was!!!!!!!

jenga079 · 13/02/2011 21:26

Stop peeing on sticks!!!

If you start feeling ill, getting cramps or bleeding then call your Early Pregnancy Unit, but otherwise just relax. You're pregnant.

CONGRATULATIONS Smile

My midwife told me that those Clearblue digital tests are the worst ones to use because she's never known a lady have an accurate one yet.

I used one last time round and the results were 5+ weeks, I was actually only 3 weeks. A friend had one said not pregnant and she was, and one of the mums at toddler group had one say 1-2 weeks and she was actually almost 12 weeks.

Don't worry about how far it says you are, individual hormone levels vary wildly from woman to woman in the early days of pregancy and it's impossible to say that at exactly x number of weeks your hormone level will be x amount. Instead just see it as a positive pregnancy test, go by the date of your last period, and see what your dating scan says.

Congratulations!

Hello Again,

Thanks for your comments...have been spot bleeding :( so will wait and see what my IVF specialist says tomorrow. I am getting sooo frustrated as I have so far had 27 embryos transferred (3 miscarriages) trying to conceive. It is very stressful. Anyway, thanks again.

Hi Racwell, hope your ok this morning, please try not to worry, easier said that done i know.

I had bleeding on several occassions between 5 and 8 weeks - i attended the EPU for scans and it was a constant worry. I had this in my first pregnancy aswell and my DS is 2.5 years old !

I am now coming up for 20 weeks pregnant this time round. I had cramps, bleeding, twinges , you name it.

Sometimes thats just a sign of things "progressing" , not always a bad sign.

The clearblue digital was spot on for me, when i first tested it said 1-2 weeks (bearing in mind this DOESNT MEAN 1-2 weeks pregnant- it means 4-5 weeks) and so on.... the 2nd week i used the 2nd stick in the pack and it had moved to 2-3 weeks, then i bought another one the following week just out of curiosity and it said 3+ weeks which was spot on. Having said that, i have heard so many friends complain about these tests and they were totally innaccurate for them, and have saw alot of posts on here aswell moaning about them and turned out they were infact pregnant and further on than what the rtest says.

Just try to relax hun, fingers crossed for you tomorrow xxxxx

I hope it's all ok. To be honest my experiences of the CB digital tests have been very accurate and the month I had a chemical pregnancy it simply didn't progress beyond 1-2 weeks as expected and I started spotting and then bleeding thereafter. I hope this isn't the case for you, but these tests pick up your HCG levels rising, and whilst they are not 100% accurate in where you are at at the time they usually pick up whether the hormone level is going in the right direction over time (your HCG level should be doubling daily at this stage so the CB digital tests are programmes to test for range x to y, y to z etc. whilst it can vary from woman to woman when you switch from 1-2 to 2-3 etc i don't think it's a good sign to go backwards (unless you tested later in the day with less concentrated urine?);

I'm sorry if my advice sounds bleak, but i'm just giving my honest opinion, which I hope proves to be wrong.

Halleberry · 28/11/2014 19:46

How does it make you 4/5 weeks if the digital says 1/2 weeks?? I don't understand all this at all :( xx

stihlhere · 28/11/2014 20:08

Panicking now. Did two tests last week both came back negative. Cycle has been very erratic this year. Coming every two weeks and now nothing for three months.

Doctor has just put me on AD as been a tough year and struggling with everything.

Both tests were Clear blue digital and now worried the tests could have been wrong and I'm taking AD.

Showy · 28/11/2014 20:17

Halleberry, this is an old thread and you would probably be better off starting a new one. Basically though, the CB digital tells you how long since you ovulated/conceived. Pregnancy, however, is traditionally dated from 2 weeks before this (when the average woman has her period). So if a CB digital says you're 1/2 weeks, you ovulated 1/2 weeks ago but are considered 3/4 weeks pregnant. Does that make sense?

It's just because many years ago you only knew you were pregnant because of a missed period, no scans and only a blood test would confirm it. An easy way to 'date' the pregnancy was to use the first day of your last menstrual period even though the conception doesn't actually take place until later.

stihlhere, I think it's very unlikely you're pregnant. Have you had unprotected sex?

Halleberry · 28/11/2014 21:32

I did post on another thread but have became obsessed with this :( basically long story short my husband and I separated for a short time in which I slept with my best friend. I done a pregnancy test 1 week later and it said I was 2/3 weeks pregnant (i did sleep with my DH a few weeks before this) but I'm terrified its my friends baby. I am definitely right now after my scan 14 weeks and 3 days and my due date is 26th of May - it's so confusing because my husband and I have reconciled but I can't tell him about this :( it would ruin us. I'm so scared its t friends baby but most people are saying I was probably pg already before I slept with my friend. But I have such a poor understanding of this process I just don't know :( xx

Thanks for replies. I'm just not relaxed at all through this pregnancy and every day I'm searching the net for evidence/advice/experiences as I'm terrified this baby is not my husbands which is making me deeply depressed xx

WorryWurta · 25/01/2015 13:01

I have no experience with the pregnancy test, but I used A LOT of the digital ovulation tests when we were doing IUI and they were crap. The nurses at the clinic even said every now and then they just get a duff batch through - I would literally do one that would say 'ovulating' and one that said 'not ovulating' from the same urine sample. So I don't know how similarly designed they are but could be the pregnancy tests have the same issue?

Chudders2012 · 14/11/2015 16:09

I used this test when I was first pregnant and panicked when the indicator still said 1-2 weeks even though I was much further along. I was convinced I was going to have another miscarriage. Then a few days later we had a scan and saw the heartbeat and everything was fine. At the time I was hunting high and low for information on the HCG levels that correspond to the different parameters on this test but couldn't find them. But this article does have them.

www.myinformedlife.co.uk/my-clearblue-digital-pregnancy-test-with-weeks-indicator-shows-incorrect-timing-should-i-be-freaking-out/

You can sort of work out what your HCG levels are if you've used the test, within the range given. It also says not to be alarmed if the indicator doesn't give you the date you expect. I thought I would share the article in case anyone else is in this same situation as me - I know I was in tears at the time.

Amandaaa16 · 05/05/2016 22:51

WineAndTiramisu · 04/10/2017 15:07

You'd be better starting a new thread, as replies will be to the OP from years ago...

Expectingbsbunumber2 · 04/10/2017 15:30

I had no issues with the clear blue digit. Done 2 tests both said 3-4 weeks and here I am 28 weeks 😊

Mason17 · 12/10/2017 12:24

Has anyone taken a CB digital test 1 day before period was due and got a positive result?

Ems2219 · 14/04/2018 02:03

I'm 1/2 weeks pregnant after taking clear blue test, I slept with ex partner 3 weeks ago and another guy 12days ago,, bit confused who the father could be? Can anyone shed any light, tia

Littlestar5 · 24/10/2018 15:36

Hello ladies, feeling confused. I have had many miscarriages and last week I took a clear blue digital test that said 1-2 weeks, this Monday I took another one to check if the pregnancy was progressing and fair enough it said 3+ 😍 but today I did one and it say 2-3 weeks 😢 does this means it’s not a viable pregnancy? Any advance welcome
