membrane sweep at 39 weeks- good way to try and get things going or dont hold my breath?

having this done later, does anyone have any positive stories about how it started things of?

have been feeling crampy (mild period like pains) for a few days now and baby is low down but no show or anything to report.

please give me a glimmer of hope

I had my sweep at 37+5 as I was due to be induced at 38 weeks for medical reasons, 48 hours after said sweep my waters exploded all over the bedroom floor and eight hours and various obscenities after that, they handed me my new chubby little daughter.

I think my body was ready at the time, and the sweep just sped things along a bit
