DS1 took ages to get the hang of using the loo- about 9 months before he finally got the hang. I decided that I'd tried just too early so with DS2 I thought i'd leave it until later and had planned to wait until he was 3 (which is Sept)

DS2 has been showing a lot of interest. he's done several wees and poos on the loo (not consistantly but he's keen.) A lot of his friends have been learning at nursery which is helpful.

I'm thinking about giving it a whirl but we have a camping trip planned in a few weeks and I don't fancy the prospect of accidents whilst having minimal access to a washing machine.

Will it be OK to wait (lazy option) or should I give ut a whirl? If i wait until after camping trip then it will be another 6 weeks before i get chance to dedicate some time to it.

Personally, I would wait. We went camping a couple of months after training my daughter, and although she was doing great beforehand, she completely regressed and had accidents left right and centre on holiday (something to do with change of routine / excitement, I suppose).

You could still carry on letting him do wees and poos on the potty when he wants, but without taking him out of pants or actually going into the actual training process.

Good luck!
