training pants??

DD is adamant she wants to use the potty and is showing some progress... going to continue for now but was wondering about training pants? do they actually contain much of the accident? obviously still want her to feel wet - any recommendations?? really just want to avoid huge puddles in public!

No, I disagree.

They are great for containing those dribbles and small leaks. they wont contain a whole wee but stops a full change of clothes being necessary as they start to get the idea that they need to go.

we have one pair we were given and she def knows they are pants and knows when she is wet - but is interesting to hear people comments - I mean the reuseable ones that are like normal patns but have a bit of plastic in and are sort of toweling on the inside!

I love training pants, especially in the first days/weeks. They absorb most of the accident so it does not go on the floor hence less mess or clean up. Now that dd is dry most of the day at home, I use them when I go out as she is not so confident out, at least it wont leak everywhere and I feel more comfortable knowing that most of the wee will be absorbed.

I have been using pull-up pants with DS since we started all this potty training malark and I wasn't sure at first but for convenience-sake yes they are pretty good and will contain most of the pee. Saves having to change clothing, pants etc.

Apologies if this conversation has already taken place however I am desperately trying to track down a pdf version of the potty training book "Poo goes home to Pooland". My DS has mastered the art of weeing however we are struggling on the poo front!
