Out for the day - pants or nappy?

Good morning! I am 7 days into potty training DS, and to be honest we are not as far along as expected us to be, (and my expectations weren't particularly high) but he is trying now, and loves wearing his pants. Last week, apart from very short journeys to and from DD's school and postoffice, we didn't go out. At the weekend we did get a bit more adventurous going to a summer fair and out for a meal, but DH was with me (he seems to be better for DH) even though he did have accidents.

Can't possibly stay inside today as there is no food in the house, errands to run and storytime club will wonder whats happened to us.
A busy day, on my own with two tots - shall we stick with pants....or shall I be convienient and go for a nappy until we get back?

I would stick with pants and be prepared with lots of changes of clothes. IMO it set DCs back to put them back in nappies. Make sure you go to the toilet at every opportunity, when you arrive at the shops, as you are leaving etc.

I would also stick to pants but, as others have said, make sure you take him to toilet at every opportunity - before setting off, as you go into shop, as you come out etc etc. Also clock where the cafe's are etc where you can pop in to use the loo and ask him regularly whether he needs it. Take some changes with you and lavvish him with praise! I did this with DD and it seemed to work - she actually was fascinated by going to lots of different toilets!!!

Thanks for advice! Inzidoodle - I'm afraid I don't have any pull-ups, just plain old pampers babydry - but I can certainly see your point of saving changes!

Its been a good morining so far, so I think I might just stick with his pants and go to the loo very regularly as choufleur and cheesypopfan suggested - I like the idea of it being facinating to visit different toilets! I just hope there are plenty available! Might as well bring the entire pants draw with me I guess....
