well my son is 2.6 and has been using his potty for as long as i can remember
soon as he gets up in the morning he takes his nappy off and will use his potty all day long no probs but anytime i put pants on his he just contantly pees one pair after another and im trying to get him potty trained so i can go out without puttin nappies on him
should i just leave it for a bit n continue just lettin him run around with no nappy while in the houseand just puttin a nappy on when we r going out or should i keep at it with the pants?

Will be watching your thread - we're in exactly the same boat! (DS is 2.3)

We've been so proud of him- he initiated using both the potty and big boy toilet at home when he was about 20 months. But now we're not sure how to progress.

I think that in our situation nursery doesn't help (not their fault as a fab nursery), but DS def wouldn't be able to concentrate on knowing when to wee/poo when there as too much going on. So now he says "nappy for nursery, potty for home". Hmmmm.....

i no it was the same for my son while he was at nursery but since hes finished up for the holidays think its best to try do it just now, my son was really slow at talking still is just now and cant really say much so would have been too hard for him to even let a teacher know he need to go to the toilet.

does anybody have any advise?
TIA

I think lilly that because when bare bottom half they are in no doubt they have nothing on. But when wearing pants, he is perhaps feeling like he has a nappy on so is just weeing.

My DD2 did this for a while too and still sometimes reverts to this (she is 2.6 too) but after lots of pant changing and washing she is fine now, and has not worn a nappy for a good 4 weeks (even at night). Just keep at it, and I introduced 'potty stars' but each time she used the toilet or potty and after getting so many a week she can 'spend' them on a treat.

Good luck!

so just keep going with the pants then hes even got to the stage were hes going for naps with no nappie and has never had an accident once even at night time he doesnt want a nappie on so i wait till hes fallin asleep then put it on him. i will need to pick him up a waterproof mattress cover this week so i can just leave him with no nappie at night n see how he goes
