Can I do a happy-dance about potty training please?

Potty training DS was hell on earth. He's 6 now and still doesn't always make it to the loo on time. He has to be almost strong-armed into the bathroom in the mornings before he leaves for school. I was bracing myself to potty train DD (who is 2.5 years) but lo! she got it almost instantly.

We started on Monday, there was one wee accident that day, a combined wee and poo accident on Tuesday and a poo accident today. Otherwise it's been plain sailing. On Friday I was in the loo when she appeared asking for the potty. I asked her to hold on and finished up quickly but by the time I got into the other bathroom she had put the toddler seat onto the loo, climbed up and done a wee all by herself.

So if you're having trouble/had trouble last time, take heart. It's probably just one of those things, you're not doing it wrong and next time it might be a piece of piss (pun intended).

Congratulations!

My DD (2.9) seems to have, more or less, got it this week. It's taken a good couple of weeks. We're having her first nappy free night too (although she's been dry overnight for months) - just have to make sure I get her to the loo quite quickly in the morning!

Can I join you with the happy-dance?

I am amazed at how easy it has been this past week - we're now on day 9 and yesterday DS (2.8) came back from nursery in the same clothes he went in, and was very good at home too. He came up to me at just past 6 and asked to go for a poo!

I was dreading potty training, but only had two poo accidents last week (about 6pm again) and a few changes of clothes, but all in all DS seems to have clicked.

Phew.

I don't expect night or naptime training for a while though!

Good news moonbells.

At the risk of sounding smug just now DD called to me from her bedroom and I went in to find that she had done a poo in her potty. She was very pleased with herself.

I'm hoping that she can set a good example to DS who is 6 yo and still fails to make it to the loo on time at least 2 or 3 times a month.
