Nearly 4 year old DD had 36 accidents last week

Help!

We have been trying to train my DD since she was about 2.5. She does have good days (no more than 2 a week) but not for about 3 months. Last week was a bit of a low point. 36 accidents! She is full time at nursery, and they are great about changing her discreetly and without a fuss, but some days they do actually run out of clothes, so they put her into a pull-up. So it might even have been more than 36 accidents. Within the week she also had 20 or so successful wees on the toilet.

We have a doctors appointment at the hospital in a month's time, but I was wondering what they might say/suggest?

We have tried all the normal things, honest. We have really researched this! Her nursery nurses are stumped too.

forget about it I say , at least for the time being. Put her in nappies/ pull ups for a while. Then when she is ready and maybe over a weekend/ holiday when she is at home and not at nursery, try again . Maybe as she is a little older try a star chart for every sucessful trip to the loo. There is probably no reason other than she is so busy having fun with her chums and forgets to go , or ask to go.
Don't panic there are no 15 year olds going to big school in nappies- she will get the hang of it. Try to remain calm , reward loo visits , and ignore wees on the floor/ in a nappy and try not to belittle her by saying other children are big girls cos they don't wear nappies etc.
You'll be surprised how soon she gets it, when she is ready. Good luck

I honestly think something's gone a bit wrong

She can go to the loo 5 times in an hour, then wet herself. On Saturday, she had an accident, I took her into the loo to clean up, she weed again on the loo. I put knickers on her and reached behind me to get trousers. I turned back to her and she was wet agin. Weird, huh??? (BTW, we have already ruled out urine infections.)

Star charts really don't work. She's mildly interested in getting the star at the time, but it doesn't seem to motivate her to go to the loo. We've tried lots of other motivation things too (working towards getting a much wanted toy, phoning nana etc...) As I say, she DOES go to the loo quite frequently. She just wets herself more frequently some days!

Does anyone know what a doctor might ask/say/do? Nursery and I have been keeping records of when she goes to the loo and when she has accidents. What else might they want to know?

I would just put her back in nappies and give all of you a break from it.

Go and have your appointment let them rule stuff out etc She could have irritable bladder which makes them need to wee very very frequently.
