DD not waking when bed wetting

My DD is 5.5 and still wetting the bed at night, she also doesn't wake up when she is wet. I used to lift her before I went to bed and again at about 1.30 but she was still wet in the morning.
Have spoke to the school nurse about this and she basically told me off, that I wasn't helping DD by lifting her cos she wasn't learnig that her bladder was full (makes sense), and that I was just making life easier for myself as in less laundry.
We have since been using a reward chart for the past 2 weeks but still wet most mornings we have had 4 dry nights total.
The nurse also told me about the alarm system but they wouldn't even think about using them until DD was at least 7.
Am I just expecting too much too soon??
Am I an over paranoid mother ???

My DS is exactly the same age and still wets most nights. A couple of times in the past year we've tried no nappy and reward chart, lifting, no drinks etc. but no luck.

My other 3 DC's were all dry by 4, so I guess we've got one of the percentage that are not till they're older. I know a few kids who weren't dry till 7 or 8 so wouldn't worry and just leave it.
