Wiping their bum

Hi there,

I'm going to begin potty training my 2 year old daughter and I wondered what's recommended in terms of wiping her bum?

Should I teach her to do this for herself from the word go? Should she do it for wees only and me for poos?

And I assume she just uses standard loo roll?

Thanks!

I don't know what the received wisdom is, but we've always asked DD to wipe herself, and then we have a little check after a poo.

If your DD will be attending preschool at 3 then she will need to be able to wipe herself, and practice makes perfect (eg learning to check the paper for marks, learning to wipe front to back).

I think it depends how old. I wouldn't trust a 2year old, but if they were nearly 3, i might.
haven't even thought about teaching my DS to wipe yet, but told him to make sure no drips!!!
maybe get those wipes and make a big fuss of them being "her special" wipes?
