Don't know what to do

My daughter is 2.10 and I am on my second attempt at potty training. Few things to point out:

  1. She wants to wear pants
  2. She has really good bladder control and can hold her wee for hours
  3. Will sit on the potty for ages at nursery and when watching telly at home but fights it at other times
  4. Tells me if she has done a wee (accident)

BUT

in two weeks she had only done 4 wees in the potty/toilet. She sits on the potty for ages, is read books etc but will not wee (apart from the odd occasion). I know she needs a wee as she is leaping around the room but she gets up, 5 minutes later will have an accident.

I just don't get it and don't know which way to turn. She is very stubborn and strong willed.

Poos she will not do in the potty either and usually waits until she has a nappy on.

Everyone keeps saying to me to keep at at but I just am not seeing ANY improvement and wonder what the point is. We have not had any wees in the potty this week.

I'd give up and leave it a few more weeks /months. Trying too soon just causes stress for everyone might not be popular with friends / family, but they're not the ones cleaning the floor and washing the clothes!

Must admit its not the floor/clothes cleaning that bothers me. I just don't see the point when there is no improvement.

The other thing you might try is popping her on the toilet rather than a potty. neither of mine would ever go on a potty (absolutely no idea why) but both were quite happy on the toilet even though it was way too big for them. I got one of those toilet seats to go over the normal toilet seat and both children used that for a few weeks before deciding they could use the 'big' toilet.
