Becoming dry at night

My DS just over 3 has started to ask not to wear a pull up at night. He has been dry in the day for a good 9 mths or more. He has quite a wet pull-up when he gets us up in the morning suggesting he is nowhere near ready but I'm not sure if most of it is because he is doing a huge wee on waking as he knows he has got a pull up on.
If we go to bed late (midnight or after) I've checked his pull up and its dry so he can defintely do 5-6 hours.

So if he keeps asking should I let him go for it or should I keep persuading to wear a pull up?

TIA

I'd say go for it. Was the same with DS, he was asking not to have a nightime nappy (dry during the day for a couple of months) but was waking up with a bulging nappy. I think he was having a massive wee first thing in the morning. So we ditched the nappies and put a potty in his room to start with. The odd accident but now fine. He even gets up to go to the loo during the night.

I was surprised because I thought nightime dryness would take longer.
