DD 3.3 dry during the night but wets herself during the day!

We have been potty training DD (3.3) for 5 months and although she is completely dry during the night she still hasn't cracked the day time.
We appear to go through cycles of good and bad for absolutely no apparent reason, e.g. she was pretty good in February with only a few spots in her pants but for the last 5 weeks she has been wetting herself and insisting that she doesn't need a wee even when she is in the middle of doing one!
Over the easter weekend we had 3 days where she was completely dry all day and then on easter sunday she started wetting herself worse then ever. In the last 2 days she has gone through 9 pairs of trousers and to be honest I am at a loss as to how to handle this anymore.
What drives me mad is I know she is able to do it (as the 3 days and dry at night proves) it's as if she cannot be bothered. We have tried all of the usual sticker charts and rewards etc and yesterday when threatened with a return to pull-ups she smiled and then happily put one on as if was dressing up time .
Please someone tell me this will end and where do I go from here.

what happens when she wets herself? Do you give her lots of attention by getting cross with her (as I would after 9 pairs of trousers!!) or rushing to change her clothes? Personally, I would try (and you will have to really bite your tongue!) to be very matter of fact......"oh well never mind" and send her off to get a change of clothes. IMO the more attention she gets from the wetting the more she will continue to do it.......does she tend to do it when you're attention is elsewhere or you're busy doing something?
