DS1 didn't come out of nappies until he was 3.1 but, tbh, the training was really easy and he had hardly any accidents at the time or since.

However, these last 2 days he has pooed in his pants twice - same time each day and because he has been distracted with what he was doing at the time although this has never been a problem for him before

Yesterday I did the 'softly softly' approach and explained how it was wrong blah blah blah but tonight I did shout at him and have threatened to withdraw his computer privileges for a week if he does it again!! He does know it is wrong and I feel it was just plain laziness.

Any advice?

My sympathies Ceebee. DS1 was potty trained just before he turned 3 and occasionally has these set back too - he's 4 next month. FWIW I think its fairly common with boys to be too lazy to go to the loo, especially if they're too busy having fun doing other things - but it gets sorted out eventually. If its the same time maybe next time try and pre-empt it by suggesting a loo trip just before the poo time? Otherwise it is just a phase and he will get through it - eventually.

Is he constipated at all? Oddly enough the only time DD has had poo accidents is when she is a bit constipated - I don't think she gets the signals properly and it suddenly catches up on her as it were. Sadly a couple of such incidents at nursery has lead to her witholding poo until she gets home - which doesn't help her constipation, but I guess that's a whole other thread.

Thanks for the reassurance.

Lionstar nope, definitely not constipated as he poos in his pull-ups before he gets out of bed every morning!! In fact, DH is wondering if that is confusing him somehow (I am not convinced about that he has been pooing every morning for months now so it is not something new).
