Hello
Sorry to talk about poo! but I need some advice... My 2.5yr old son is kind of ready for potty training. He tells me he needs a poo or wee wee but doesnt want to sit on the potty. Ive bought 2 different types of potty's and a mini toilet seat for the loo but he's not interested.

He was a little constipated last week, we got over that problem but he does enormous poo's and he sometimes struggles to get them out - they look like adult size poo's and it hurts him - bless him

My main concern is the size, for his comfort I would like to somehow reduce the size! By diet maybe? Just not sure how I can do this so any advice would be hugely appreciated...

Thank you

Stewed prunes? We used to give ds1 a packet of Oats so Simple made up with water with a few desert spoons of stewed prunes in for breakfast. Always worked a treat.

Also, does he drink much? We had to give him watered down apple juice rather than water or he just didn't drink enough to keep his stools soft.

Try using the potty as a book chair before bed. He sits on it while you read when he finally does a wee in it celebrate and reinforce the achievement. If you finish the book and he hasn't weed just ignore the lack of wee and put his nappy on.

Hi Jollyma
Thanks for the advice, I am a little concerned that he's not drinking enough so I too mix juice and water, he's drinking and wanting milk quite a lot so I also water that down so to get more water in him! He also likes drinking from the small bottles of water, a novelty I guess but i'll try anything at the moment!!

If he ate porridge that would be a joy, but alas he's also a bit of a fuss pot when it comes to food!!

xx
